In 2024, ITV launched its own take on The Traitors, The Fortune Hotel, a show where contestants must lie their way to victory by holding onto a cash-filled briefcase for as long as possible.

Its elevator pitch? 10 couples are whisked away to a fancy resort where they’re each given a mysterious case. Eight are empty, one contains the dreaded Early Check Out Card and one contains £250,000.

The goal is for players to do whatever it takes to hold onto the cash case until the show ends. If they can survive regular challenges, avoid early eviction and endure the nail-biting case swap which takes place at the end of each episode, the lucky winning pair will walk away with a life-changing sum of money.

It’s not all tense though. Contestants are transported to a high-end Caribbean spot where they’ll get to enjoy a life of luxury — when they aren’t lying, charming and deceiving their fellow players, that is.

They’ll also get to rub shoulders with actor-turned-presenter Stephen Mangan who joins the couples as the show’s host.

Season one recently came to a dramatic close earlier this year and a second trip has been announced for 2025 by ITV. Reckon you’ve got what it takes to win? If so, here’s how to apply for The Fortune Hotel season 2.

The Fortune Hotel season 2 will come to ITV in 2025.

Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality and Acquisitions at ITV, said of the renewal: "The Fortune Hotel proved to be genuine, talked about television, captivating the audience from start to finish with its ingenious format and numerous twists and turns. Highly acclaimed by viewers and the Press, we're thrilled to be bringing this wonderful show back for a second season."

Production on new episodes will take place in the Caribbean later this year. Season 1 aired in May 2024 so perhaps we can expect the next outing to arrive at roughly the same time in 2025.

All those looking to apply for The Fortune Hotel season 2 can do so by visiting the show’s official recruitment page — but there’s a little red tape to navigate before you can start packing your bags and honing your lying skills.

Housed on ShortAudition.com, the application page for The Fortune Hotel season 2 says it is "looking for teams of two to strategise, scheme and swap their way to a huge cash prize of up to £250,000."

It also sheds a little extra light on the type of people they’d like to hear from, explaining that the show wants "contestants who are outgoing, confident and not afraid to voice their opinions," adding that "a poker face and the ability to spot a lie will also be useful…"

Couples are encouraged to fill out the page’s three-step application process but they must do so individually. "You must BOTH apply separately to be considered and please both attach the SAME video of you both in your individual applications," explains the application form.

You’ll also need to have some free time on the horizon, as the show requires all those who apply to be readily available to dedicate at least four weeks of their winter to its shoot at a "luxury resort in a tropical destination" in October and November later this year.

Applicants must be over 18 to be in with a chance of appearing on the show, with the form adding that "it helps to supply as much information as you can about yourself and the partner who you think would be the best person to help you take home the fortune."

From there, all those looking to star on The Fortune Hotel season 2 must submit some personal details and answer a few questions about their life experiences. These include things like "Briefly describe your job and interests" and "What would you consider the most significant life experience you have been through?"

You’ll also be able to share details of the crack strategy you’d use to win the show. The application form is open now, closing on 27 September. Good luck!

The Fortune Hotel season 2 is coming to ITV1 and ITVX in 2025.
