It's impossible to deny that beauty takes an endless number of forms. Whether it's the majesty of nature or the enchantment of a loved one's eyes, there's something beautiful to be found everywhere you look--especially in our furry friends! No two animals are the same, and it's the things that make them unique that are the most beautiful.

Just ask Jubilee, the blind dog! This young Australian Shepherd is as joyful as can be, and she spends her days helping her owners educate other pet owners about the rare disease that makes her so special. There are an infinite number of reasons to adore Jubilee, but the way her fur 'changes colors' in response to the disease is positively breathtaking.

What a beautiful dog! Jubilee looks stunning no matter what color her fur is, and I think it's because she always looks so happy. Her head tilts show just how tuned in she is with the world around her, and it's the perfect proof that not even a rare disease will stop her from enjoying her life. She's so inspiring!

But what is it about the disease that caused this precious gal to change colors like this? It's normal for a dog's fur to turn more white as they age, but Jubilee isn't a senior dog quite yet! This change happened so quickly in the last year or so, and it's because of the same autoimmune disease that caused her to lose her eyes in 2022.

Despite a long journey toward a pain-free life, Jubilee is happily free from any discomfort her disease has caused. She's adjusted well to navigating the world as a blind dog, and she's gained thousands of fans on social media who love to see the world through her...ah, well, you know what I mean. She's one popular pup, and it's easy to see why!

Uveodermatologic Syndrome in Dogs

Although it took several years for Jubilee and her family to get a correct diagnosis after she began experiencing vision problems, veterinarians were able to determine that she was suffering from Uveodermatologic Syndrome. And at this point in her journey, she really was suffering. She was in constant pain from eye swelling and sensitivity, but once they were removed, she felt like an entirely new dog.

And it wasn't long before she looked like one, too! This autoimmune disease attacks the pigmented cells in the body, especially in the eyes and skin. As the cells lose their melanin, which gives them color, fur begins to turn white.

Navigating this disease hasn't been easy for Jubilee or her owners, but now that she's pain-free, she's helping spread awareness in the cutest of ways. Thanks, Jubilee!
