Border Collie Supports Mom During Late Night Feedings with New Baby & It's So Sweet

Dogs are the truest companions you'll ever have. They're there for you when the going gets tough too. Like one Border Collie, who was right by her mama's side during as she fed her baby early one morning. We're sure the new mom appreciated the company so much.

Like every new mom Brooke Thomo has to get up several times a night to care for her baby. Luckily she'll never be alone — not with Cedar around.

In the clip she shared online, it shows the new mom in the wee morning hours cradling her baby. We just know she's tired. But that didn't stop her from carefully working to get her baby to go back to sleep.

Then Cedar came over. The Border Collie wasn't going to let her mom be alone for one minute. She even greeted her new sibling with a few loving sniffs.

"This was the first night at our house after the hardest hospital stay and seeing her really reminded me I was in fact, home," the new mom wrote in the comments thread.

"Through the cluster feeding nights and the early morning wake-ups, she's been there too, just awake and silently waiting by my side," the grateful mom wrote in the video's caption.

People in the comments section were so touched. "Girl dogs and babies. It’s just something about them, like they want to be your child’s caretaker too," wrote one person. "It’s the checking on you before the baby for me," someone else noted. "She checked on you, momma, then checked on the baby. She will love you both till the end of time," another commenter chimed in.
