Cat Complaining About His ‘Own Life Choices’ Has People Feeling Seen

We've all made decisions (and I bet it's more than one!) that leave us wondering, "Why did I do that?" The same goes with this angry orange cat named Waffles whose mom shared a video in the middle of September of all of the times he's complained after making his own bad choices in life. Not only is it retable but it's also hilarious!

From deciding to snuggle up with the spare human to laying too close to his Golden Retriever sibling, he's annoyed by his decision. Waffles is angry over what happens next in each situation and lets everybody know it. Talk about a grouchy cat!

While Waffles claims to not like the spare human, he sure spends a lot of time cuddling up with him on his own accord! Commenters loved this video as much as I did. @Ugh got more than 5 thousand likes when they pointed out, "Waffles *sits on the spare* Also Waffles, *how DARE you not be mom*!" @kohn60628 wondered, "Waffles is something else. Is he ever nice to the spare and the dog?" and a fan of the orange cat replied, "Yes but it's rare." @Jayne pointed out, "Not the bite & hiss combo WAFFLES!!!" and mom replied, "It's a specialty of his!"

Are Orange Cats Really Grouchier Than Others?

If I ever get a cat (which is highly unlikely since my husband is extremely allergic to them), I'd want to get an orange cat. Orange cats seem to always be grouchy and complaining about everything, and their standoffish personalities crack me up. But are these cats really grouchier than others?

Tag24 shares one reason that orange cats have gotten a grouchy rap, "Seeing as orange cats are mostly male, they consequently have higher testosterone levels than any other color of cat. As there is a link between male cats and aggression, this could explain the belief people have that orange Tabby cats grumpy or "crazy" personalities."

The same article goes on to say, "Male cats are sometimes a little more self-confident and reckless. As a result, orange tabby cats probably stand out a little more than other cats, which could explain why their stereotype has developed."

On VetExplainsPets, they give another reason that orange cats are considered grouchier than other cats, "According to Dr. Smith, a feline behavior specialist, “Orange cats often have a genetic predisposition to certain behaviors that can come off as strange to their owners. This can include being more vocal, having a higher energy level, and being more independent.” This genetic component can play a significant role in shaping an orange cat’s personality and behavior."

This is not to say that all orange cats have a grumpy streak! My niece has the sweetest orange cat you've ever met! While he is pretty vocal, he's not known for hissing at spare humans or attacking the dogs. And just like humans, all pets are different, and what might be normal for one may not for another. But even after all of these explanations one thing is for certain, orange cats and their quirky personalities are the best!
