Farm cats are just built differently. They're not like your typical tabby. Which is why people on the internet were absolutely loving video of a "farm cat" soaking up attention from a barn full of dairy cows.

The kitty wasn't just getting along with the much larger animals, they were giving her a ton of love and adoration. Which actually sounds like the exact kind of thing that a cat would like.

Video shared by the animals' owner, @bobbiraemyers, shows the cat in the middle of the cows, like the star of the show she was. She takes a small stroll around the enclosure to say hi to all the ladies before stopping at one and receiving some nuzzles. Can you believe it? A cow was nuzzling a cat!

At one point, one of the cows gave the cat a lick, which is a cow's way of saying that they like you and are feeling good. It's pretty incredible when you think about it. Most cats can't really stand to be manhandled, while this cat was taking in the love with ease.

"Farm cat loves her moos," her owner joked in the video's caption.

Commenters were really touched by the clip. "Algorithm please give me more cat and cow videos," begged one person. "Her lil wet head after, what a loved lil baby," someone else added. "I used to avoid bringing my cat into the pasture with me because she’d end up getting a soggy bath from the girls… cats and cows 100% have symbiotic relationships," another commenter shared. "Oh to be a farm cat surrounded by my cows," one person chimed in.

Cows Are Social Animals

It takes a special kind of creature to get to a cat's heart (dogs certainly can't do it). So what was it about a barn full of cows that put the kitty totally at ease?

The truth is that cows are very social animals. Studies have shown that cows can both recognize each other as individuals and have certain cows that they prefer. Cows show their favor through grazing and licking. They'll eat and rest near the animals that they like to spend time with and use licking as a way to bond. Licking can reduce the heart rate of the cow receiving the attention too. Meaning it's actually sort of good for them to go through this bonding process.

It's also probably to a cow's benefit that they are so big and stationary. They are less likely to move quickly and scare an easily excitable cat.

Whatever the reason, we're just glad that it happens. After all, how else would we see this adorable moment in the barn?
