Celebrity MasterChef viewers are complaining again about the line-up, saying the programme should "just stop" if the contestants are not famous enough.

The BBC One show introduced its second heat group of the series, but many viewers claimed not to know who Chloe Burrows, Danielle Harold, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Eshaan Akbar and Rochenda Sandall were.

In Tuesday's episode, Chloe Burrows was eventually sent home by judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace, leaving the other four returning to try for quarter-final victory later in the week.

Celebrity MasterChef has introduced its second group of contestants this series - but yet again, viewers have complained they don't know who any of the line-up are.

Last week there were similar comments for the series' opening episodes, but this time as Love Island's Chloe Burrows, former EastEnder Danielle Harold, sprinter and Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (aka Nitro), comedian Eshaan Akbar and Line of Duty actor Rochenda Sandall joined the kitchen, viewers said the show should "just stop" if the celebrity calibre wasn't high enough.

One person commented on X: "Literally only know Danielle Harold from Eastenders Had to google the rest," as someone else agreed: "When do the celebrities get there? Only one I know is Danielle." Another person wrote: "A woman who was on Eastenders and four members of the public."

As the contestants were introduced, one viewer wrote: "Is this the unknown celebrity edition of #celebritymasterchef," and someone else added: "Should just call this episode Masterchef."

In one round of judging, Torode and Wallace told Sandall she didn't need to "throw everything on a plate" in her cooking and could present fewer ingredients.

One viewer commented: "The advice about less is more ("don't throw everything on a plate") could be applied to the celebrity version of @MasterChefUK itself. The public and professional versions are enough. If you've run out of interesting, real celebrities just stop."

Someone else wrote: "Another #CelebrityMasterchef @MasterChefUK Where I genuinely have never heard of any of them," as another viewer agreed: "#celebritymasterchef has the definition of celebrity been stretched or am I out of touch? I only recognise 1 person."

Another person complained as Burrows was introduced: "When did #CelebrityMasterchef become so annoying with these so called ‘influencers/celebrities’ who don’t even recognise the most basic of foodstuff and think that by giggling we’ll all find them endearing. We don’t. If you can’t cook..don’t bloody well enter the competition."

Making a dig at the Strictly Come Dancing line-up which has drawn some criticism this year, one person joked: "I’m guessing #strictlycomedancing got all the best celebrities #CelebrityMasterchef ……."

Last week, Charlotte Crosby did not manage to make it through to the Celebrity MasterChef quarter finals alongside Edith Bowman, Ian "H" Watkins and Craig Doyle but viewers said they were breathing a sigh of relief at the news.

The reality TV star had put in a strong performance during the heats, impressing with many of her dishes, but just missed out on the next stage over her gnocchi recipe.

Leaving the show, Crosby said: "This experience is one I'll remember til the day I die. I've learned some new skills and met some really good people so you can't be sad about that, can you?"

However, viewer reaction was a little harsher as one person commented on X: "I think we can all agree that it was the best decision...." Another viewer agreed more diplomatically: "So thrilled that Edith, H and Craig have made it through to the Quarter-Finals."

One person wrote: "What a fantastic end to tonight’s show," and someone else added: "A nation breathes a sigh of relief."

Celebrity MasterChef airs on BBC One at 8pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
