Celebrity Race Across the World contestants want an all-stars series

Updated

There could be a Race Across the World all-stars edition if past contestants have their way.

Beloved shows like I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here have had an all-stars version which allows some of the fan favourites to return to the show but the stakes are higher and the rules are reimagined. With I'm A Celebrity, only the winners and runners-up were called back for the legendary series, plus the ITV show was relocated from the depths of the Oz jungle to South Africa to up the ante.

Cast of BBC's successful series The Traitors have also been calling for an all-stars version of the betrayal reality series. As the Celebrity Race Across the World finale hits our screens this week, stars of the show said they would like to take part in an all-stars edition of the epic adventure reality show.

Scott Mills and his now husband Sam Vaughan would love to sign up to an all-stars version of the series, having loved their experience so much. Competing against them in this year's final are Kelly Brook and Jeremy Parisi, Kola Bokinni and Mary Ellen as well as Jeff and Freddy Brazier. Celebrity Race Across the World is only six episodes long, compared to the "normal" version where there are eight episodes for the series so the final has come round quickly.

Despite having found the experience tough at times, the BBC radio DJ said he would do Celebrity Race Across the World every single year. "Wish us luck for next week," he told Yahoo. "There's six episodes but it feels like it's gone so fast. Never mind. We’ll do Celebrity Race Across the World every year!"

His now husband Vaughan agreed the couple would be ready to take on the challenge. "We could do an All Stars one," he said.

Mills added: "Yeah, well up for that. Like when they bring people back on the Strictly Christmas special. All Stars, we’re there!"

He explained: "[Taking part in Celebrity Race Across the World] made me appreciate the life that I have and made me realise how lucky I am because we met and saw lots of people that aren't as lucky as us. Also, it makes you think to yourself that if you need to you can really survive in the most basic of situations and you can still have an amazing time."

It raises questions of what the route could look like, especially as this series of Celebrity Race Across the World appears to be the hardest series of the BBC One franchise yet. The four teams racing from Belém, Northern Brazil to reach the finish line in the Andes, Frutillar in Southern Chile.

They're not the only pair up for an all-stars version of the show though. Race Across the World series four winners Alfie and Owen said they would drop everything to be there for an all-stars version of the BBC show.

Football referee Alfie told Virgin Radio earlier this year: "Realistically, if an all-stars came up, we wouldn't say no. We've spoken about if they came back to us and said, ‘we want you again’, we would drop everything and say yes."

Yahoo reached out to BBC representatives for further comment.
