Celebrity Race Across the World row erupts as Kelly Brook says she's a 'miserable wife'

Tensions are already beginning to rise in Celebrity Race Across the World and contestants have just left the first checkpoint.

Jeff Brazier stormed off after a spat with his son Freddy and now in the teaser for next week's episode, we see Kelly Brook have cross words with her husband Jeremy Parisi over decision-making. It is no secret that Race Across the World and its celebrity spin off is one of the toughest shows.

At the end of the first episode, viewers got a taste of what's to come in the following week. Nail-biting scenes saw Brook complained her husband made her a "miserable wife" when they didn't agree on an upcoming decision. As she took aim at her husband, the model looked unimpressed with the choice to get cheap accommodation.

She said: "You've got a lovely cheap room and you've got a miserable wife so well done."

The sarcastic comment was made even more cutting when Brook clapped her husband Parisi on the back as she said "well done". The BBC show sees the stars compete in a race on a budget and here the couple are unable to agree on how they're spending their funds.

Money is always a big sticking point in the reality TV format as inevitably there are times where the pairings are unable to agree what they should and shouldn't splash out cash on. Cutting the cost on accommodation can be the difference between having the budget to push ahead in the race. The BBC show is difficult as TV stars have to say goodbye to the luxuries they are used to, with no VIP treatment.

Brook is completely aware of this though. When talking about the race, she admitted in the teaser for next week: "This is going to be brutal." In a piece to camera, Brook shone a light on how the stars were going to be vulnerable while filming the show. She said: "You're stripping away the armour and you're really going to be bare."

Brook and Parisi have been together since 2014 and they were married in 2022 so they really do know each other very well, an advantage for them on the trip. This also means the couple are well aware of what will annoy them about their partner while taking part on the show.

Naturally they have their differences and one of them is Parisi is an early bird while his wife Brook is not. Some of Parisi's behaviour early morning really gets on Brook's nerves.

"I’ve been a bit jet-lagged today and Jeremy was literally up at 5am and because he doesn’t have his phone, nothing will occupy him, so he was jumping up and down like an excitable child, opening windows, wanting me to get up, he’s like a coiled spring," Brook explained.

It goes two ways though because Parisi said he would be annoyed waiting for his wife so they could get on with the race. He said: "I think I’ll be waiting for Kelly, as I wake up early, I’ll be waiting for her to get ready."

Unfortunately for the married couple this is something they will face time and time again on the show. Getting that early bus or train can be the difference between winning and losing. We can't wait to see how Brook and Parisi get on.
