When Celebrity Race Across the World sets out across the Amazon, the contestants won't just be worrying about reaching the checkpoints first - they'll also be contending with some creepy crawlies, if the cast photo is anything to go by.

Mary Ellen Moriarty, who will be taking part alongside her cousin, Ted Lasso star Kola Bokinni, has pointed out a horrifying element of the cast announcement picture that some fans might have missed.

In the photo, she is crouching down next to Bokinni but not looking too happy - and now she has revealed the reason why, circling a very large spider on her cousin's shoulder that people might have missed.

Moriarty wrote: "There's a spider on @kolabokinni shoulder guys!! Not pulling that face for no reason."

Bokinni is best known for his role as footballer Isaac McAdoo in Apple TV comedy Ted Lasso, where he stars alongside the likes of Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham and Nick Mohammed.

He was announced earlier this week for the cast of the second season of Celebrity Race Across the World, which typically sees celebrities team up with a non-famous relative for the show, and will be joined by Moriarty in their bid to win.

Moriarty has been sharing her excitement at the show's start, due to air on BBC One on 14 August, with her social media followers as she has posted videos from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

She showed off shots of the famous Christ the Redeemer statue and also from the beach, writing that it was going to be "the most emotional 'holiday' ever".

Meanwhile, Bokinni has been sharing clips from early scenes of the series which show him and his cousin carrying backpacks and laughing with the other contestants as the race gets underway.

Bokinni and Moriarty will go up against three other pairs of contestants - Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy Parisi, Scott Mills and his husband Sam Vaughan, and Jeff Brazier with his son Freddy.

The route for the forthcoming series will travel through the Amazon, beginning in northern Brazil and ending in southern Chile.

It comes less than three months after the end of the latest run of the main Race Across the World series, which saw best friends Alfie Watts and Owen Wood win their race from Japan to Indonesia.

Season one of the celebrity spin-off travelled from Morocco to Norway and was won by weather presenter Alex Beresford and his dad Noel.
