Dog shows have become more and more popular as more people become pet owners, but have you ever seen a cat show? These competitions, while much less popular for TV broadcasts, are just as prestigious as dog shows--but they're run a bit differently!

Many cat clubs and associations hold their own cat shows, but the tech-savvy folks at @newvisioncatclub share highlights of many shows on TikTok, too. And that's how we met Ell Tee's Tiger Lilly! This Persian kitten may be new to the cat show world (she's not even a year old yet!), but she stole the hearts of everyone in the room at a recent Cat Fancier's Association cat show. Her flat face and red-and-white coloring are simply stunning, but it's her ultra-fluffy tail that had everyone, including the judge, talking.

Aww! This precious gal had me under her spell immediately, and I wasn't the only one. Not only did cat show judge Gary Veach fall head-over-heels for this Persian kitten, but so did over 20 million other viewers! Tiger Lilly may not have won Best in Show (she did win Best Red and White), but she won the hearts of tons of new fans. In fact, I think all cat shows have new fans after this video went viral.

"I love how dog shows expect dogs to be on their best behavior, and cat shows are thrilled that they just act normal," noticed commenter @ashleyvickery17. LOL--you're right! This kitten was enjoying herself on the judge's table, especially with a scratching post on either side of it. Even though cat show contestants are supposed to be on their best behavior, it helps to have these feline distractions just in case.

While dogs are kept on leash during shows, felines wait in their cat carriers until it's time for their examination. Once they're out of their crates, though, anything can happen!

Cat Show Breed Standards: What's with the Tail?

As Judge Veach mentioned, the breed standard for Persian cats is for the tail to sit below the back, no matter how fluffy that tail may be. Technically, a judge can and should take points off of a contestant's score for any trait that doesn't meet breed standards, but it seems like this cat-loving judge is willing to get it slide.

Why is that? Because an upright tail is a sign of a happy and confident kitty! This fluffy cat is having a great time exploring the table and being the center of attention, which is a large reason why everyone finds her so cute and charming. After all, the cutest cats are the happiest cats!
