You know when you are loved by an animal when they choose to wait up for you instead of going to sleep. This is certainly something that dogs do, but a Cockatoo online was also too giddy at the thought of seeing his "best friend" to get any shut eye. He was determined to stay up.

That night Furby had one goal and one goal only: to see his bestie come home.

Furby was really scratching his head when he realized his best friend was nowhere to be seen.

"Everyone's here?" he asked his mama in the footage.

"Best friend's not going to be home for two more hours," she told him.

"I want to wait right here," he replied.

"You can try to wait up for him but I don't think you'll make it," his mama warned.

That wasn't going to stop Furby. The Cockatoo watched the news with his mama while waiting for best friend to show. Now this is one devoted Parrot!

Furby's determination was so sweet to the comments section. "I think it’s a mark of a quality person if a bird wants to wait up for you," wrote one commenter. "Poor Furby wants to see best friend but he's so sleepy," someone else added. "Me when I was a kid waiting for dad to come from overnight shifts," another commenter teased.

And one person asked the question we were all wondering: "Aww who's best friend?" they wondered.

In a follow up video, the bird mama shared the answer: it was her husband!

"He's the reason that I have Furby," she explained. Best decision ever!

Types of Cockatoos

Cockatoos are very popular birds that are kept as pets. As Furby shows, they're chatty and very affectionate. But did you know there are several different types of Cockatoos? It's true.

There are actually many varieties, like the Sulfur-crested Cockatoo, Galah Cockatoo, Moluccan Cockatoo, Major Mitchell Cockatoo, Gang-gang Cockatoo, Black Cockatoo, Eleonora Cockatoo, and the Umbrella Cockatoo.

Most Cockatoos are 20 inches long and have very long lifespans. In the wild, the Cockatoos can live 20 to 40 years, while in captivity they can live up to 70 years. Seventy years! That's so long! Although for your Cockatoo to live a good, happy life you will need to ensure that they have proper care.

These birds need a diet full of vegetables and fruits. They can get a lot of their nutrients from their pellets.

In short, if you've ever considered getting a Cockatoo, don't wait. These birds make incredible personalities and will be the best companions your whole life long.
