Cornell grade school names students of the month for September

Hattie Nelson and Parker McDonald have been named Cornell Grade School students of the month for September.

Hattie Nelson has been named for kindergarten through fourth grade after being nominated by her teacher Andrew Goodwin. Hattie is the daughter of Kendra Nelson of Cornell.

Parker McDonald is the student selected from fifth through eighth grade. Parker is the son of Nicole Crain and Eric Melvin of Cornell. His nominating teacher was Kayla Lyons.

Both students were presented with certificates, pin and Casey's General Store gift cards at an all-school assembly.

Each month the grade school selects two students, one from kindergarten through fourth grades, and one from fifth through eighth grades, who best demonstrate a good attitude, respect for others, dependability, hard work, volunteerism, honesty, trustworthiness and leadership.

Each student receives a Student of the Month certificate and will have their picture on display in the main hallway at Cornell Grade School.
