Curious Beagles Can't Get Enough of the View From a Mountaintop Gondola in Switzerland

Pet parents aren't the only folks who look forward to vacations, but they do have to plan quite a bit more than those who don't have animals at home. You'll need to secure a pet sitter or kennel for the time you're away, or you'll have to adjust your plans to include your pet. If you're a dedicated dog owner like this Beagle mom, though, you just may plan to bring your furry friends with you on vacation instead.

Kiki and Koko are two polite British Beagles who enjoy cooking and traveling with their parents. The foursome recently traveled to Switzerland for some sightseeing, but the highlight of their trip happened on July 6 when the girls took their very first gondola ride through the mountains. Their mom was worried they'd freak out on the ride--but they couldn't get enough!

Woah! That is a stunning view, and I can see why this little family wanted to visit the Swiss Alps. There must have been so many places for the Beagle dogs to sniff and explore, but the view from the gondola is one of a kind. I'm so relieved the girls enjoyed it as much as their parents did!

"As a fellow Beagle owner, I can say they have such a wanderlust soul," commented @kristafuller. "Mine always wants to see what’s happening in this big, big world." How sweet! This dog breed was created to assist with hunting, so being outdoors is only natural for them. While most modern Beagles love to be indoors with their people, they'll happily accompany you on nature walks...and gondola rides!

Traveling With Your Dog: Is It Worth It?

Taking a vacation can be one of life's greatest gifts, but it gets even better when your dog can tag along. Not only do you get to share once-in-a-lifetime experiences with your four-legged friend, but you also get to skip worrying about your baby while you're away. When they're there with you, neither you nor your dog will have separation anxiety!

Don't get me wrong--traveling with dogs can be difficult, too. The costs, supplies, and effort needed to transport your pet may not be worth it for long-distance travel, but if your dog enjoys car rides, a shorter-distance trip can be a lot of fun. Flying on a plane with your dog is a lot more complicated, though, but it can be done.

Your vacation activities can also determine whether or not your dog will have fun. Kiki and Kiko's owners made sure to create a dog-friendly vacation itinerary, which isn't hard to do in Switzerland, but I think it's safe to say that everyone is surprised that the gondola ride was a hit. Happy travels!
