Cute Corgi Gets the Fiesta Going After Taste Testing Carne Asada 'for Safety Reasons'

Whether your dog is a full-blooded mutt or a purebred Standard Poodle with a lineage traced back to the French Revolution, you can't deny that dogs are at their happiest when they have something to do. That's just one reason why more and more dog parents are choosing to work from home, but it can also be incredibly hard to make dogs feel included while you're still all day long!

Fortunately, one Corgi's family has it all down to a T. Since @pawdredecorgi rescued dog Sammy started to get comfy in his carrier on Dad's back, the family has been rewarding him with the most delicious treats and morsels. After smelling the carne asada all day, how could he not? Sammy may not be a professional chef, but this pup knows good food when he smells it..

OMG! Sammy looks insanely adorable! That doggie bandana matches their personality perfectly, though I was a bit nervous it would get messy when he started eating. Clearly, this Mexican-raised Corgi has more important things to think about!

"Little Homie got the asada tariff and the cheese tax all in one go," joked commenter @coffeejoevibes. LOL--you're so right! Sammy got a bite of everything inside that tiny taco, and it couldn't have gone any other way. Tiny tacos are a must-make snack for small dogs like Sammy, but they look good enough for anyone to eat. It's no wonder why the begging dog wants a bite so badly!

In a dog owner's mind, the pup may be tricking his owner into giving him more food, but in the Corgi's mind, it's simply what he had to do. After all, someone has to be the taste tester to make sure everything is safe for the family!

What Meats Can You Share With Your Dog?

Gentle giants and sassy little ones alike are jealous of the Corgi dog's close proximity to food, especially when it's something as yummy as carne asada. But how can you know if a meat product is safe to share with your dog?

Generally, dogs need to consume plain, cooked meats like chicken or turkey. Some pups prefer beef, pork, or even salmon, but whatever you share, make sure to skip any seasonings. Your dog will love the protein boost, and their tummy will thank you for leaving out any irritating ingredients.

If you have any questions regarding your dog's diet, don't hesitate to reach out to your dog's veterinarian. They can help you develop the best meal plan for your pup, and they can give you tips about which foods to skip and which to share. Happy tails!
