'The Daily Show' Teams Up With Rescue Org to 'Encourage Fans to Rescue Dogs and Democracy'
Comedy Central's 'The Daily Show' hosted by Jon Stewart is launching a program this month hoping to get voters to the polls and some animals adopted. “InDogCision 2024: Rescuing Democracy” is an initiative between The Daily Show and voter registration organization HeadCount with various animal rescues across the country.
Starting on Friday, June 21 at Animal Haven in New York, the show will then go on the road across the county and hold events where people can get registered to vote in 2024 and meet precious animals available for adoption.
The Wrap explains, "It will begin on Friday, June 21 at Animal Haven in New York, before going on the road. The next stop will be the RNC in Milwaukee on July 14, in partnership with the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission, followed by the DNC in Chicago on August 18. There, they’ll work with PAWS Chicago."

In addition to being able to register to vote and adopt animals, the three events will include free giveaways, doggie swag, dog photoshoots, special guests and more.
Not Only Is Stewart a Fan of Democracy, He's Also a Huge Dog Lover
On February 26 of this year, Jon Stewart announced the tragic passing of his beloved shelter dog 'Dipper' in a The Daily Show segment that aired that night.
The three-legged rescue brindle Pit Bull was adopted by the Stewart family after they decided to host a bake sale to raise money for the Animal Haven shelter in NYC, where the first event for “InDogCision 2024: Rescuing Democracy” will take place.
After Stewart announced the heartbreaking passing of Dipper, fans donated over 25,000 dollars to the Animal Haven Shelter where Dipper was adopted from. Fans and people from all over were very touched by Stewart's tearful goodbye to his beloved dog.

Tied to The Daily Show’s Indecision 2024 coverage and the iconic Daily Show Dogs Instagram, the partnership will kick off with three flagship events: first in New York City, then carried to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee with the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (Sunday, July 14th) and the Democratic National Convention in Chicago with PAWS Chicago (Sunday, August 18th). The three flagship events will feature pet adoptions, free giveaways, doggie swag, dog photoshoots, voter registration opportunities, special guests and more.
