Imagine wanting to bring home a Dalmatian puppy and finding the most unique one that you - and the rest of us - have ever seen. That's what happened to Chloe Neff when she found her puppy, and you'll instantly fall in love when you see him. Not only does he have heart-shaped spot around both eyes, but his eyes are both different colors, too!

Chloe shared a video at the end of August of her puppy named Percy (he's no longer a puppy) during her first few months with him. He acts just like a puppy, but what will make you watch the whole minute of memories she shared are his gorgeous eyes. Watch on to see what I mean.

Wow! Percy is a stunner! He's a gorgeous dog and a one of a kind with those hearts. I wasn't the only one smitten with the gorgeous Dalmatian; Chloe's video went crazy viral and racked up more than 60 million views, over 14 million likes, and has nearly 37 thousand comments. People went crazy over the unique pooch!

Commenter @Elliot got well over 407 thousand likes when they shouted, "HEART EYES AND HETEROCROMIA?? HE'S SO CUTE!" and @zeynep added, "HEART EYES??? ARE YOU KIDDING MEEEEEEE??!!!" @Katie sighed and said, "I always forget Dalmatians are real." @zackbakr wasn't wrong when he said, "This might be THE dog."

Do Dalmatians Make Good Pets?

Now that we all want an adorable Percy of our own, I wondered if Dalmatians make good pets. I've been writing about animals and pets her for a couple of years now, and just came to realize that I've only written about Dalmatians one other time (the video is adorable so check it out!) Since I don't know much about them, I decided to do some research.

Another PetHelpful article describes these pups as high-energy dogs, "Dalmatians are known for their energetic and outgoing personalities. Originally bred to run great distances, the Dalmatian possesses a "tireless enthusiasm" that is virtually unmatched in the canine realm (Coile, 271). This breed is also quite affectionate and eager to please, making them great companions for active families and adults." The same article goes on to also share the negative aspects of the breed, "they can be extremely stubborn, strong-willed, and independent (to a fault). For these reasons, they require consistent and firm training."

Dalmatians also have specific dietary needs due to urinary issues are susceptible to a number of health problems and conditions. When I say these dogs are active, I mean active! Experts suggest that this breed should receive 30–60 minutes of vigorous exercise daily. Early socialization is also crucial for Dalmatians.

Your Purebred Puppy (YPP) started their overview of Dalmatians like this, "A good Dalmatian is a dependable, dignified gentleman, yet high-spirited and playful. A good Dalmatian, I said." In one of her comments, Chloe mentioned that a purebred Dalmatian from a reputable breeder is expensive and purchasing one from any other breeder could lead to behavior issues. YPP backed that up, "Unfortunately there are a good number of poorly-bred Dalmatians around, mostly produced when unknowledgeable pet owners," they go on to say, "These poorly-bred pups often end up with serious temperament flaws."

Whew! This breed sounds like a handful and more than I'm willing to handle! That's why it's important to do thorough research before bringing home a new dog just because it's cute. You might end up with more than you are able to care for or unable to meet their needs, making for a very unhappy dog, and family.
