We take a look behind the scenes with Dan Walker and Helen Skelton's second series of their Channel 5 travel adventure series.

Their travel series Dan & Helen’s Pennine Adventure got renewed after people fell in love with watching the showbiz duo explore the Pennine mountains: the 'backbone of Britain'. Filming the latest series, Walker and Skelton discovered what Sutton Bank in Yorkshire has to offer. They teased what is to come in a fun-filled Instagram post.

The friends wrote in a joint Instagram post: "Great fun filming in the sunshine again today. What an amazing country we have on our doorstep. Laughs, walks and snacks all day long. Coming to a TV screen near you later this year."

In the photographs, they were seen enjoying a picnic in the countryside as well as soaking up the sun on glorious walks. Earlier in June, they had shared their first look at the second series being filmed at the Yorkshire Dales National Park where they explored what the countryside had to offer and the cliff faces.

Many people shared their excitement with the friends about the upcoming series beneath the most recent Instagram post. Among the comments, one person wrote: "Great pics….cannot wait to see the new series…!!!…the first one was absolutely brilliant..!!!"

Another person said: "Some stunning scenery. Am looking forward to seeing the new series."

Someone else wrote: "Great photos Helen, so enjoyed your last series can't wait for the next one. You compliment each other so well, your friendship is a delight."

Another fan wrote: "Really enjoyed the first series and very much looking forward to the second. Beautifully presented."

Walker and Skelton have been friends for more than a decade and both competed on Strictly Come Dancing. When they got the call about working together on the original series, it was immediately a 'yes'. The pair both have shared sweet details of their friendship ahead of the first series of their travel series on Channel 5.

Skelton said: "Dan and I always have a laugh. We find the same situations funny. We both love the Pennines and we both like walking, so it was 'Shall we just go and do a bit of that for telly?' It was just a really nice opportunity to work with a friend and to celebrate a nice part of the world."

Walker added: "We've known each other for over a decade, so when the opportunity came up and they said 'We'd like to make a travelogue' I loved the idea of working with Helen... We'd never done it before but we're really good friends. Then I rang Helen about it. I know she gets loads of offers to do things all the time but for me it was the opportunity to work with her and to make a programme about a place that we're both really passionate about."

To recap, in the first series, Walker and Skelton cycled along the stunning Snake Pass and canoed along Britain's highest canal tunnel. Their adventures also took them to the Pennine Way's most picturesque towns and villages. They camped without tents in a woodland, near Keighley. Walker had to face his fears of heights on Ilkley Moor too.

The friends also abseiled 100 metres into one of the Yorkshire Dale's deepest caves, Alum Pot. The last part of their Pennine adventure saw them head to the North Pennines where they experimented with the high-adrenaline activity Hydrospeeding.

We can't wait to see how they get on in the second series!
