Days-Old Miniature Donkey Can't Stop Zooming Whenever He Goes Outside

Whether you're caring for a pregnant foster pet or raising animals on a farm, meeting the world's newest members is such a gift. Care begins long before babies are born, but with the right resources and lots of love, any baby animal can have the chance to thrive. Look no further than farm owner Katie's newest miniature donkey for the perfect proof!

Newborn Pico was born with as much spice as a baby donkey can have, and he proved it on August 21 when he couldn't hold in his zoomies any longer. In fact, he gets a burst of energy every time he goes outside, and it's the sweetest thing. It sure doesn't hurt that over 7 million viewers agree!

OMG--just look at him go! Little Pico really put the pedal to the metal as he ran laps around Mom, but she seemed less than impressed with this baby animal's crazy antics. If he's this wild when out in the pasture, this mama donkey really has her hands full in their stall!

"All I can hear is 'Mom! You’re not looking at me! Watch me!'” joked commenter @fandommama13. That's so on point! Pico's vibe definitely matches that of a little kid who wants attention, but he also seems like he's running just for the sake of running. And why not? He's only a few days old, so this is the most open space he's ever seen in his life!

Even though the baby donkey's mom isn't particularly impressed, farm owner Katie van Slyke is blown away (and probably exhausted) by Pico's nonstop energy. Luckily, now that the miniature donkey is a little older, he can spend some time with the other farm animals to get his energy out. The only tricky part is that he still can't be too far from Mom, but he's getting more and more confident by the day. He may never be a very big animal, but in his mind, he's already the tallest donkey on the farm.

Baby Donkey Development

As another commenter pointed out, it's pretty mindblowing that baby animals like Pico can be so active at such a young age. They wrote, "It’s so funny to me that baby horses, donkeys, etc. can do this at a couple of days old…and baby humans are essentially little potatoes for months." LOL--you're not wrong!

Pico may have more energy than your average baby donkey, but he's just as active as any other donkey foal his age. These newborns learn to stand merely minutes after birth, and it's not uncommon to see them running within a few days. In all honesty, I'm glad newborn babies aren't so active because that would be incredibly unsettling!
