Video of a dog actually enjoying some July 4 fireworks has people so emotional online. Mariner, a deaf Australian Cattle Dog, was in no danger of getting scared by the night's festivities. And now footage of the dog being amazed by the lights has people positively swooning.

It's always nice to include your dog in your holiday plans. But for most dog owners, that's simply not possible for July 4.

The noise is usually too much for most dogs. In fact, July 4 has high rates of dogs running away because of the noise. That's exactly why it was so surprising to see @therebetterbedogs's Australian Cattle Dog actually enjoying the show. His little tail was wagging! It's actually so sad that not all dogs can enjoy fireworks because Mariner looked positively awestruck.

"Since Mariner is completely deaf he absolutely loves fireworks," his owner explained in the caption. "Sometimes I imagine elevator music playing through his head when he experiences something extraordinary," they joked.

People in the comments section were so happy for the Aussie. "I’m so glad deaf dogs can enjoy fireworks, I’ve never even thought of that," wrote one commenter. "His 'lil waddle while looking up. I just know dudes mouth was wide open smiling!" someone else chimed in. "My Pittie was terrified of fireworks her entire life but was deaf before she passed. When I finally got to show her what she was scared of, it was beautiful," one commenter shared. "He said spectacular give me 14!" another commenter joked.

Ways to Protect Your Dogs During Fireworks

It can be hard to resist bringing your dog to outdoor celebrations, but the easiest way to protect them from fireworks is to simply leave them at home. And if you leave them at home, make sure to keep them indoors too.

If you decide to stay at home with your pooch, make sure you put them in a quiet room, away from the windows, like a basement or a closet. If your dog likes their crate, you might want to fill it with their favorite toys and treats. Another way to help keep your pup away from the noise is to use a white noise machine or play classical music to keep them calm.

Before the fireworks start, make sure your dog's ID tags are current and take them on a walk to let out that nervous energy. Most importantly, don't forget to give your dog lots of cuddles. That's the one cure that always works.
