Dog Mom’s List of Funny Things Dobermans ‘Hate’ Is So On-Point

If you have a fur baby, you know that there are certain things that they love and other things that they hate. My dog hates the vacuum cleaner, even though I use it every day since she sheds so much. For this Doberman Pinscher named Cowboy, the three things he hates most are funny and relatable, and most dogs probably feel the same way.

Cowboy's mom shared a video of the things he hates on Sunday, August 25th. You might be thinking of things like getting their nails trimmed or spotting unwanted visitors in their yard, but those don't top the list. Watch on to see what Cowboy doesn't like and make sure your sound is on for the last one!

I think it's safe to say that most dogs don't like these things...I know my dog has no sense of personal space or privacy and decides that she hates peace and quiet anytime we want her to be quiet! Commenters had a lot to say about Cowboy's list. @pattyobrien7252 made me laugh when she shared, "Oh my gosh and I thought mine was broken because she does all this stuff! Good to know she's not the only one! LOL!" And I cracked up at @Melanie McDaniel's comment, "You will NEVER ever EVERRRRR be alone again!!!!!"

Do Dobermans Make Good Pets?

I don't have any friends who have a Doberman, but I remember as a kid my grandparents had one. She was sweet and loved to play with us kids, but I also remember her always watching and trying to keep us safe, especially when we were in the pool.  Do Dobermans make good pets? As with any dog breed, it depends on who you ask.

It seems that Doberman Pinschers have gotten a bad rap as being aggressive, serious dogs. They are natural protectors and make great guard dogs, but with proper training and socialization from an early age, they can make wonderful pets. Another PetHelpful article says, "They are also well-known for their loyalty, remarkable intelligence, vigilance, and steadfast devotion to owners. For these reasons, they often excel in police or military roles but can also make for a loving family pet. This combination of strength and sensitivity makes them formidable guardians and cherished companions."

And here's a cool historical fact about them from the same article, "It is believed that Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann, a tax collector, first developed the Doberman to protect himself from thieves. During the 1800s, tax collection was an extremely dangerous profession." That explains why they're natural protectors!

Dobermans are high-energy dogs who must have regular exercise to be happy. If you're an active family always on the go, a Doberman would make the perfect addition to your family! If you're looking for a couch potato, skip getting a Dobie. They also have some breed-specific medical issues to be aware of.

As with any dog breed you're considering, make sure to research the dog and learn the good, the bad, and the ugly about them (they all have these things!). That way you can make an informed decision and ensure that the dog fits in with your lifestyle...and you fit in with theirs.
