Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford split after 14 years of marriage but 27 years together as a couple.

Their work commitments reportedly "took their marriage in different directions" as news emerged Holmes and Langsford were getting a divorce. A spokesperson for the couple said this weekend: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

The couple got married in 2010 after 13 years of dating. Their son Jack has recently gone to university and Holmes also has three children from his first marriage - Declan, Niall and Rebecca.

Holmes and Langsford had become one of the golden couples of TV as the pair co-presented This Morning on Fridays and during school holidays for 15 years from 2006 until they were axed in 2021. Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary have been gracing our screens on This Morning on a Friday since then.

So what are Holmes and Langsford's work commitments now?

Holmes broke his silence on the marriage split as he returned to his day job on the breakfast show on GB News. He said: "I'd like to thank people for their support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated."

Holmes joined broadcaster GB News as a breakfast news presenter alongside Isabel Webster in January 2022. Breakfast With Eamonn And Isabel airs on every weekday from 6am until 9.30am. They take a look at the news agenda through the lens of early paper reviews and interviews.

The breakfast show co-stars go way back as they first worked together on-screen on Sky's early morning news show Sunrise in 2014. His friend was the one who encouraged him to join GB News after he was dropped from This Morning.

He told HELLO! magazine in November last year: "Isabel called me and said, 'Why don't you come to GB News?'"

Holmes detailed their close friendship and he revealed they were "like family". He added: "I can't ever imagine us arguing or not having her in my life. In this business, no one else will fight your corner. But if anyone had a go at Isabel, I might punch them."

Holmes has announced a new career move too in the wake of his divorce news. He has been announced as the new spokesman for The Travel Franchise with travel reporter Hayley Sparkes. They will co-host the Travel Podcast together. His new job will take him to conferences overseas where he will be a keynote speaker.

He said: "Working in news means that I often see or report on how the travel industry is disrupted. During the pandemic it was clear that those who had booked through travel agents had support and advice when they needed it most.

"If I want something done I get someone with expertise in that field to do it and travel is no different. I would never think of booking my holiday independently. I pick up the phone and talk to a travel consultant who I know and trust, and who can add a layer of value and security to help navigate any uncertainties, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable travel experience."

Langsford will miss Loose Women this week following the news of her divorce. Loose Women is a daytime chat show which covers the topics from the female perspective from politics to the TV worlds and lifestyle factors.

She has starred on the show as early as 1999 when she first became a regular panellist. The presenter took a break from the daytime chat show between 2002 and 2010. Now it has been a decade since Langsford became one of the main anchors on the show in 2014.

Langsford has often spoken about her marriage on Loose Women. In 2022, the Loose Women star admitted she would prefer her husband to leave her for a 25-year-old than someone her own age.

She told the Loose Women panel in 2022: "See I think, people go, "Oh, you'd hate it if you were dumped for a younger woman". I go, "No, I would hate it because..." then I could do the whole cliché thing, "Oh, Eamonn is such a cliche, he's going with a 25-year-old, how sad.

"But then I think "No, the worst thing for me is if he went off with someone the same age"." She added: "I think that is harder than being dumped for someone younger. That's my worst fear."
