Jeremy Clarkson and his team are looking into running tours in the Cotswolds, West Oxfordshire District Council councillor Liam Walker told Yahoo.

The tours would look at a trip to the Diddly Squat Farm shop, between Chipping Norton and Chadlington, and Clarkson's new pub The Farmer's Dog, in Asthall, near Burford as well as The Hawkstone Brewery, near Bourton on the Water.

Walker is the Conservative County Councillor for the Hanborough and Minster Lovell Division, as well as the West Oxfordshire District Council councillor for the Hailey, Minster Lovell and Leafield ward.

The councillor told Yahoo: "I think Jeremy's team are planning to do in the future tours. So they'll go to the farm shop and then go down to the pub and then his brewery by Bourton on the Water, so that it will be almost like a triangle of the Cotswolds which is great. It's a huge boost of tourism, particularly in West Oxfordshire."

We hope they get The Grand Tours off the ground!

It's true, the Cotswolds has always attracted the great and the good of showbiz from Kate Moss to the Beckhams thanks to its beautiful unspoiled countryside and pretty villages. But people from all over the country have flocked in their droves to visit the Cotswolds ever since the Grand Tour presenter launched his farm shop on Diddly Squat farm, where he films his hit Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm.

All eyes were on the opening of the TV star's new pub The Farmer's Dog over the Bank Holiday weekend in August. Since it first opened its doors, everyone has been talking about Clarkson's 'proper English pub' menu and what's missing as well as all the people banned from The Farmer's Dog.

Also in the interview ahead of the opening of the pub, local councillor Walker had high praise for Clarkson and everything he has done for the local area. He added: "I don't think the council has done any assessment but it wouldn't surprise me if hotels and other businesses in the area it's in had a huge boost, particularly around the farm shop. Chipping Norton is not far away. People are there for the afternoon, or for the day, and they make a trip of it to the Cotswolds which is quite nice."

Diddly Squat Farm shop first welcomed people in 2020. Clarkson was spurred onto set up the shop when he discovered potatoes grew very well on his farm, which features in the Clarkson's Farm series, and he accidentally had 40 tonnes of them.

It sells all fresh produce including cow juice, apple juice, vegetables as well as honey made from the bees living on hives on Diddly Squat Farm. The shop is open from Wednesday through to Sunday between 9.30am and 4.30pm. This includes Bank Holidays too.

Clarkson's long-time girlfriend Lisa Hogan works as the manager of the shop and she's in charge of the day-to-day running of the place. We often get fun glimpses of what's going on in the shop on Clarkson's Farm too.

His latest venture The Farmer's Dog opened for the first time over the August Bank Holiday and it has proved already to be a roaring success. The Grand Tour star has a clear vision for the pub and he will only have British produce, with the exception of a G&T.

He wrote on his website: "I have tried my absolute hardest to make sure that every single thing you consume in The Farmer’s Dog was grown or reared by British farmers. And I have failed. Yes, the pork, the beef, the lamb and the venison are all British.

"And so is pretty much everything else. The milk, the butter, the eggs, the vegetables and the fruit. We even cook in British oils. But there have been some problems like, for instance, the simple G&T. You can’t have a pub that doesn’t offer a gin and tonic.

"But there is quinine in tonic water, and you can’t grow that in Britain. Sure, I could have served gin and water instead, but I didn’t think you’d enjoy it very much. Especially as, instead of a slice of lemon, you’d have been given a slice of turnip, or some potato peelings."

Ketchup, avocado and Coca-Cola fans will be disappointed though because none of these feature in Clarkson's pub. There are fizzy drink alternatives to Coca-Cola though that are grown from British fruit grown on Diddly Squat Farm.

At Clarkson's pub he also sells his Hawkstone lager and cider. It is brewed nearby at The Hawkstone Brewery, near Bourton on the Water. Hawkstone lager and cider fans can visit the brewery where they can also get expert guided tours that teach them all about the history of Hawkstone and how it is brewed.

The tickets cost £24 per person for the two-hour tour at the brewery. There is a bar open serving Hawkstone lager and cider as well as independent food trucks on site every Friday and Saturday from 2pm.
