Isaiah Coupet was not the only Ohio State player to be selected in the 2023 MLB draft.

Right-handed pitcher Josh Timmerman and outfielder Kade Kern were picked in the late rounds Tuesday.

Timmerman was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 16th round as the No. 482 overall pick.

Kern was selected with the No. 519 overall pick in the 17th round by the Atlanta Braves.

Timmerman and Kern are Ohio State's 10th and 11th draft picks since 2020.

Timmerman, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound Blacklick native and Licking Heights graduate, played his first two seasons at Wabash Valley Community College before joining the Buckeyes, appearing in 13 games last season as a junior.

In 23 ⅔ innings, Timmerman posted an 8.37 ERA, allowing 22 earned runs on 21 hits. He also struck out 36 batters.

An Archbold native, Kern played three seasons at Ohio State, hitting 17 home runs and driving in 101 runs in 135 games. Last season, the 6-0, 200-pounder hit .283 with six home runs and 22 RBIs, adding 11 doubles and a triple.

Coupet was picked by the Colorado Rockies in the fourth round. Last season, he posted a 4-3 record with a team-best 3.55 ERA, striking out 72 in 50 ⅔ innings.
