Victoria Beckham is making a Netflix documentary following the success of her husband David's show with the streaming giant.

Netflix mini-series Beckham told the extraordinary story of former footballer David Beckham's rise to fame as well as letting viewers see behind the doors of his home and letting them catch glimpses of his family life.

The four-parter was a huge success with audiences and one of the big talking points of the series saw the Beckhams address the 20-year old Rebecca Loos scandal after his former PA sensationally claimed she was having an affair with the married footballer in 2004 - which the Beckhams have always denied.

Now Netflix has set its sights on his wife announcing a documentary about her life as she navigates the fashion world with her business. At the Edinburgh TV Festival, Netflix's Adam Hawkins, who leads its UK documentary series team, said: "We are working with Victoria Beckham on a project. She is surprising, she is warm, she is witty and now we are going to get to hang out with her for the next few months. This is an observational documentary following her, behind the scenes in Paris and with her family."

The summary read: "Her Posh Spice days may be behind her, but today Beckham is on a journey to build a fashion empire — and now, fans will be able to see the story behind it all."

This begs the question, how might the two docuseries compare?

While Netflix's Beckham wasn't focussed around her, David Beckham documentary director Fisher Stevens interviewed Victoria for 14 hours for her part in the docuseries. He told Variety of their marriage: "Frankly, I was quite moved by their relationship at the end of the day, and — after all they’ve been through — how much they love each other, and how close they are."

Victoria become the surprise stand out star of Netflix's Beckham. There were hilarious moments, where she had to double down on her claims she came from a working class background as her husband pointed out that her dad drove her to school in a Rolls Royce. Plus, there were emotional moments too.

This helped thaw the nation's icy perception of Victoria. PR culture expert Andy Barr, co-founder of PR agency 10 Yetis Digital, told Yahoo that Victoria had shook off the cold image with her appearance in the Netflix mini series. Viewers were especially moved when they watched Victoria break down over the impact the Rebecca Loos headlines and claims had on her marriage.

He told previously Yahoo: "Viewers are clearly feeling her pain and this is evident by the outpouring of love that is aimed her way. My WhatsApp was awash with group conversations about the documentary and how moving it was.

"Victoria has shaken off that cold and abrupt image she was forced to have by the record label stylists and her true, funny, vulnerable and positive character is now great to see in all its glory. It has reinforced them as a national treasure and a couple that the whole of the UK should be truly proud of."

With her own series, Victoria has the chance to really open up to the audience and win the hearts of the nation. Fans will get to see her in her element as the docu-series will capture her journey on building her own fashion and beauty empire. She has made her mark on the beauty and fashion worlds - with many stars wearing her dresses including Meghan Markle, Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian.

Another important part of Victoria's story is her days in the Spice Girls.

Sure, people were really excited to find out more behind the scenes of Beckham's rise to fame as he made it big as a footballer. But Victoria has an intriguing story to rival her husband's tale.

As part of girl band Spice Girls in the 1990s, Posh Spice found her feet on the showbiz ladder alongside her friends: Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Melanie C. Their friendship and fierce fallouts have played out in the newspapers over the years. Even now, decades after their split, the question on everyone's lips is: when are the Spice Girls reuniting?

Halliwell (now Horner) left the band in 1998 and the group split just two years later in 2000. The five-piece got back together for a 45-date The Return of the Spice Girls Tour in 2007 and in 2012 they performed the closing ceremony of the London Olympics. The Spice Girls last toured together in 2019, which they did without Victoria.

This docu-series will certainly capture some of that Spice Girls magic and may even deliver a reunion of some kind that fans are asking for.

She told Spain's ELLE magazine: "My husband is an inspiration to me. Do we look like the couple seen in the Netflix documentary? Yes. We like to have fun, chat, dance, drink. And laugh at each other. That's what it takes to be happy. I believe a lot in laughter, family and friendship. I realise that we have become a model. People like to see relationships that last."
