It's not exactly a secret that puppies are rambunctious little trouble makers, but not everyone realizes just how wild they can be until they look after a puppy themselves. It can be downright exhausting keeping a baby dog safe and healthy, especially when they're excited to learn about the world in any way possible. Fortunately, puppies will learn routines and expectations with enough patience and love, but they almost always calm down with age, too.

One Labrador Retriever mom knows this well, but she found herself caught off guard by her new puppy, Purdy, and his absolutely chaotic behavior. On September 13, she shared a hilarious compilation of clips from '1 hour with a Lab puppy' to show just how 'sweet' they truly are. This little guy acts more like a Sour Patch Kid!

LOL! Little Purdy is such a stereotypical Labrador Retriever puppy. He looks sweet and innocent with his big puppy dog eyes, but it's just a disguise for the scalawag hidden beneath the surface. If you leave him alone for long, he'll find something interesting to explore, play with, or eat!

Commenters didn't seem at all surprised that this puppy's owner had to use her puppy's government name. Several others admitted to doing the very same thing, especially when their dog is in trouble (which, if you have a puppy, happens a lot).

At the same time, viewers can't help but appreciate the little Lab's tenacious spirit. After all, puppyhood is temporary, so appreciate the sweet moments while you an!

"My new puppy has chewed things, including chairs, couch, floorboards, and my arm. This too shall pass...It's only a house. It's only material things. No biggies!" Exactly! You can replace just about anything in your home, but the sweet little puppy who's wreaking havoc in your home is a one-in-a-million dog.

How to Stop Puppy Destruction

It can be frustrating to raise a trouble-making puppy who won't let you catch a break, but dog trainers have many helpful recommendations for reigning in the chaos. The solution may be as simple as puppy-proofing your house, but some bevahior challenges may require long-term work.

Redirecting your puppy to chew toys when they bite and chew can be a great way to start teaching them what is and isn't ok to eat. This will take some repetition and support via obedience training, but it will set you and your puppy up for long-term success.

Dog training tools like chewing deterrants and puppy gates can also be helpful depending on your needs, so be sure to do your research to uncover the most appropriate way to stop your puppy from acting out. We'll just have to stay tuned to see what helps Purdy and his family cope with the wild puppy phase!
