Glenn Powell and Daisy Edgar Jones sat down for an interview recently to talk about their new movie Twisters. The subject came up about how the movie brought Glenn and his adopted dog Brisket together. People Magazine shared a clip of the interview on Saturday, July 20th, and it was so fun to hear about the impact Brisket had on Glenn and on the movie's entire crew.

The stars discuss what a joy that Brisket has been and what he's added to Glenn's life since he adopted him in July 2023. The two are now inseparable and their love for each other is very obvious! Glenn says that during the movie shoot, Brisket "gave such joy to the whole crew" and Daisy agreed. He even said that Brisket became the movie's mascot!

Glenn and Brisket make such a cute pair! I think we can all second what People said in their caption, "Thank you Twisters for bringing Glenn and Brisket together!" @Alison agreed, "Pets will change your life… for the better!" and @Tessa Browe added, "Animals are so amazing!"

More About Glenn and Brisket

In a People article, Glenn said he adopted Brisket, a one-year-oldTerrier Poodle mix, from the Labelle Foundation in Los Angeles. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly he shared, '"I was going through a breakup at the time and was in the middle of Enid, Oklahoma, and I had always wanted a dog. It was something I thought about a lot, but it was somewhere in this coffee shop in Enid.... I don't even know how to describe it, I just had the desire to be a father." He even said that he sent the foundation a sad, heartfelt message begging them to let him adopt the pooch.

He's also been quoted as saying it was one of the best decisions he's made, and "He’s been the greatest addition to my life ever."

The Benefits of Adopting a Pet

If you are considering bringing home a new pet, please consider adopting one from a local shelter. While many shelters nowadays are no-kill shelters, not all of them are. If animals aren't fostered or adopted within a certain amount of time, they are often euthanized even though they are completely healthy. Shelters just don't have enough room or the funds to keep every stray, rescued, or abandoned dog alive.

Other than saving a life, another good reason to adopt is that it's less expensive than purchasing a pet. Shelters aren't in the business of making money selling animals. Usually, the fees associated with adoption cover the costs of spay or neutering, food, medical expenses, and other day-to-day expenses. Instead of paying thousands to buy your next pet, you pay just a couple to few hundred, or in some cases, less than that.

Many people - myself included - say that animals they've saved from a shelter make the best dogs, almost if they know that you rescued them and changed their lives. While there's nothing scientific to back that up, paw-rents who have adopted from shelters all swear up and down that it's true. It's worth considering if you're looking for a new pet!
