Golden Retriever’s ‘First and Only Crush’ Is Funny and Surprising

Some dogs get attached to certain people, and this adorable Golden Retriever puppy named Mango falls into that category. He hasn't even met his first crush in person, but mom swears he's obsessed with her! Mango's mom shared a video of him watching his crush on TV in mid-June. It's the cutest thing you'll see today!

Mango's crush is a yoga and Pilates instructor named Nicole. The pup first noticed her months ago, and immediately fell in love. Since then, his crush has grown, and anytime he sees her on the TV, he jumps up and gives her 'unsolicited' kisses. I hope he gets to meet her one of these days!

This is so sweet! Mango is totally obsessed with Nicole. I have a sneaking suspicion that Mango might like watching Nicole's show because of the colors. Dogs can only see a couple of colors, and Nicole's show features the main one, blue. I wonder if he's more obsessed with seeing the color or watching the pretty woman exercise!

Why Dogs Enjoy Watching TV

Growing up most of us were told that dogs are color blind and can only see in black and white. Recent studies have shown that's not true and that dogs can see two primary colors, tones of blues and yellows. The beautiful ocean and shoreline in Nicole's videos show both of those colors, and I think that might be what Mango is drawn to.

Check out this made-for-dogs movie titled Barxville, a short film all about an adorable Golden Retriever named Hank who visits Barxville, um I mean Knoxville, Tennessee, for the first time. It was literally created for an audience of dogs and was filmed using an adjusted color grade, sights, and strategic sound effects that appeal to dogs. The movie's producers wanted pets to enjoy the film as much as their owners. My dog watched it, and she loved it!

Many people put on YouTube videos or cartoons to keep their dogs entertained, and a dog favorite is the cartoon Bluey. Bluey is a 6-year-old Blue Heeler puppy, and the show focuses on her and her younger sister Bingo, and their family. It's geared towards kids and teaches something about family, imagination, and friendship, and always includes the siblings getting into a little bit of mischief in each episode. Kids love it, but dog owners everywhere say that their dogs love it just as much as the kids do! Whether it was on purpose or not, the cartoon seems to use a lot of these colors, making it a show that dogs can actually "see" in color. This is why so many fans think that dogs love to watch it.

Dogs also enjoy watching real life videos that feature dogs, cats, and of course food. Sometimes they even think that the animals are in the living room with them! We've found lots of shows on YouTube that will keep our dog's attention for about 15 minutes or so at a time. She loves watching dogs running through forests and other nature scenes. It's just as fun for me to watch her reactions to the shows!
