Golden Retriever Puppy Playing in the Mud Is the Definition of Cuteness Overload

If you're looking for something to brighten up your day, this video of an adorable puppy playing in the mud will do it! Lemon is a Golden Retriever puppy who loves to share her daily antics on TikTok. Her mom posted a video at the end of July of her finding all kinds of mischief to get into in just one day, and it will make you smile!

The video starts with Lemon harassing - I mean playing with - the ducks that she lives with. The ducks weren't having it though, and one of them 'attacked' Lemon to make her leave them alone! She decided to help her mom put the ducks away and her mom was happy about that. But Lemon had to remind her mom how naughty she can be and so she decided to take a dip in her favorite mud hole. Not only that, but she also invites the other dogs to join in, too!

What an adorable mess, right! I'm pretty sure Lemon knew she'd get in trouble for rolling around in the mud, but she really didn't care! Lemon's fans had a lot to say about all of the cuteness in the video. @Jess swooned, "Such a cutey!!" and I laughed when Lemon replied, "And don't I know it! Friend @Sammy_TheNoodleDog said, "Oh my fluffin' god this is amazing!! I would love to have mud baths with you Lemon!" and Lemon quickly invited him over, "You are always welcome to join in the mud bath fun!!! LOL!"

Cleaning Up Our Pets' Messes

While Lemon's mom might have been frustrated over the muddy mess she made (and had her siblings make too!), she thought it was cute enough to record and share with the rest of us. All pet owners know this feeling! Someday Lemon's mom will look back on all of these messes and remember them as some of her favorite memories. At least I hope that's the case!

Years ago, we had West Highland Terriers, and they loved to dig in our flower beds. We had a doggy door that allowed them to come in and out of the house on their own, and there were a couple of times that they rolled around in the wet dirt and brought the mess inside, happy as could be. They didn't care that they tracked all that mud and soil around or that I had a big mess to clean up. Thankfully, the Swiffer works wonders and is much easier to use than a mop and bucket.

Pets often bring their outside messes inside, or even "presents" like dead birds, lizards, or worse (yes, I'm speaking from experience here; I was gifted with a dead snake). Rolling in the mud like Lemon (or digging in soil if you have snow white Westies!) calls for a bath, which can be very inconvenient in the middle of the day. Make sure you have emergency supplies (like pet shampoo, soap, etc.) on hand even if you don't normally bathe your pet at home...you never know when you'll need it. Or you can take the easy route and just toss them in the pool like Lemon's mom did!

Just like with kids, our pets will occasionally make messes. When they happen, remember that correcting bad behavior should never result in you yelling and screaming at or hitting your pet. Just like with kids there's a right way and a wrong way to discipline, so make sure you (try) to keep your cool. I know it's easier said than done sometimes!
