A dog showing its emotional side has people in their feelings online. The Golden Retriever was just a touch blue after his bestie left for the day. But have no fear, his mama was there and knew exactly what to do to put a smile on his face.

Hudson was so heartbroken. After his bestie left, the dog was hanging on the couch looking so sad.

We get it Hudson. It's not easy to say goodbye to your BFF at the end of the day. But the Golden just wouldn't let it go. He looked so glum while sitting on the back of the couch. Thankfully the Golden Retriever's mom loves him and knew that he could turn that frown upside down in one second flat.

"Hudson, smile!" she told him in the footage. And wouldn't you know it, Hudson listened. Hudson has the best smile. He could light up the whole room.

"Don’t worry pal, you’ll see her tomorrow!" the woman added in the caption.

The entire comments section was also there to cheer Hudson up. "Aww, sweet Hudson. My girl would love you. She gets sad when her friend leaves, and sad when our foster dogs get adopted," wrote one commenter. "Aww Hudson, don't be sad, he will be back in no time. And you will play again, sweetness overload you are," another commenter assured him. "I’ll be right over Hudson — hang on sweet boy," another commenter vowed. While another person reminded him to have some perspective. "Hudson, don’t be sad 'lil Buddy — just think of all the fun you had and all the fun you’ll have again when she returns. Kisses and paws!!" they wrote.

How to Cheer up a Sad Dog

It pains any pet owner to see their animal hurt. But that doesn't mean they have to stay that way. Our pets certainly have their funks, but here are some ways to help get them out of their bad moods.

An early morning walk is good for your dog (and for you). If you normally walk them later in the day, try and set your alarm a little earlier so that your dog can get that early morning sun.

Your dog might just need some extra time with you to perk up again. They love you! A little extra TLC can go a long way. A new friend can also be a big help. Dogs are social creatures, so bringing your pup to the dog park or doggie day care can also bring a smile to their face.

It's by no means easy to change your dog's feelings. But remember, they need us to be there for them on the good days — and the bad.
