Having friends and family to help watch your dog can be a lifesaver when life gives you non-pet-friendly plans. Not all dogs are content staying home by themselves, and not all trips are short enough for your pup to be left unattended. Fortunately, having someone you trust taking care of your dog can give you the peace of mind you deserve while you're out and about.

Other dog owners are usually happy to help one another out, but their dogs may not be so happy about that plan. Just ask Cub! This sassy Golden Retriever could not have been more clear about his feelings when his mom, Eden, babysat a puppy, but fortunately, the arrangement was short-lived. Still, the September 16 moment has viewers laughing nonstop, and it's easy to see why!

OMG--Cub is so mad! There's zero doubt what that stink eye is trying to say, especially since he's facing the wall and nearly refusing to look at his mom or the Golden Retriever puppy in her arms. To Cub, she must be such a traitor!

"I love how he’s like, 'just to be clear, I will not be assisting with babysitting,'” commented @mathandmari. No kidding! Even if he knows this puppy isn't here to stay, he wants nothing to do with them. Maybe he's a bit jealous, or maybe he's just not a fan of kids! Whatever's going through his brain, though, it's obviously not positive.

Eden made sure to give her Golden Retriever breaks from the puppy's antics, which could help him relax and feel normal for a while. This is important for both dogs' mental health since they're not used to living together, and it definitely helped keep the peace between this yin and yang-type duo.

Preparing for Puppysitting

Babysitting a puppy is a great way to help out a friend and get in some extra puppy cuddles, but you can't jump in with zero preparation. After all, puppies are a lot of work! Most importantly, you'll need to learn their daily routine from their owner, including potty breaks and meal times. Make sure you have enough puppy food and treats to last your entire visit, and see whether the puppy has any comfort items they like to sleep with or carry around.

If the puppy is coming to stay with you, remember to puppy-proof your house! Determined dogs can chew up just about anything, so make sure anything dangerous, breakable, or valuable is out of their reach. Make sure to have them on leash in any outdoor space that's not enclosed, and be sure to ask their owner if they can say hello to other dogs!

Puppy sitting can be a wonderful way to bond with a dog and strengthen your own canine knowledge, but older dogs like Cub just may be there to remind you that they're not on board. Oh well!
