When you have a pet at home, every moment is filled with a bit more magic. Mundane routines, like waking up in the morning, become another opportunity to have fun with your furry friend. If you're a fan of the Harry Potter franchise like Hunter and Eli, though, your dogs can help you keep the magic going in more ways than one.

Hunter and Eli are crazy about Granger, their Golden Retriever with a name inspired by one of Harry Potter's friends, Hermoine. She lives up to her namesake's cleverness and curiosity, but not even her parents expected such a heartwarming interaction when Granger met her brand new puppy sibling for the very first time.

Of course, his name is Potter! That's such a cute name for a pup, especially if you're more of a Griffyndor than a Slytherin. There are plenty of dogs named Draco, Bellatrix, and even Dobby, but Potter is so much more unique. Plus, this precious Bernese Mountain Dog puppy looks like a Potter, too! I'm not sure why, but he does.

Plenty of the video's viewers noticed the pup's themed names, to which Hunter commented, "We wanted to keep the theme going." I can't help but wonder what other names they considered! Bringing home a new puppy requires a lot of shopping and preparation, but choosing a name often skyrockets to the top of the list. After all, your pup needs to know what their name is!

Pop culture references are popular resources for choosing a name for a new pet, whether you look toward the TV or your favorite book. The fun part about naming an animal is that you can use almost any word or phrase that feels appropriate--unlike when naming humans--so you don't have to feel limited by the laws of social graces. If you want to name a new dog after your favorite movie character, you can!

How to Introduce a Dog to a New Puppy

Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, but it can also require a lot of hard work. We hope to help pet parents feel confident and knowledgeable in every challenge they face with their little one by their side, but one of the very first things you'll need to tackle is meeting your other dog(s). You can always hire a dog trainer to walk through this with you, but a calm introduction usually begins in a neutral, fenced-in space like a park or friend's yard. This way, your older dog won't feel like their new pal is walking in just to take over.

Introductions in the home can also work, especially if you have a small puppy on your hands, just like these new siblings tried. Everyone is still getting used to one another, but soon enough, there will be plenty of magic in their friendship.
