Disasters and big decisions lay ahead in the gripping Celebrity Race Across the World final.

It's closer than ever, with all the teams - married couples Kelly Brook and Jeremy Parisi, Scott Mills and Sam Vaughan, father and son Jeff and Freddy Brazier as well as cousins Kola Bokinni and Mary-Ellen - racing to the final checkpoint in the Andes, Frutillar in Southern Chile.

So what else can we expect from the tense final? Here's what we know.

Brook said real-life dramas now don't seem so bad in comparison to some of the hardest moments they faced on Celebrity Race Across the World. The married couple give the example of where they very nearly missed their flight to Puglia, their first holiday after the BBC show. However, it was not a disaster because they had experienced far worse.

The model revealed in the final they are left stranded on the side of the road for "like 12 hours" after their bus breaks down. "Once your bus breaks down and you're on the side of the road for like 12 hours or on a bus for 24 hours, it's really easy in comparison to what we've been through on Celebrity Race Across the World," she told Yahoo.

In the trailer, Brook called the bus breaking down the "worst thing that's happened on the race so far" while her competitive husband Parisi complained saying "Oh my God".

As disaster struck in the final leg, Brook said the couple were "blown away" by the kindness of strangers. She told Yahoo: "You'll see on the last episode, we get ourselves into a bit of trouble. The kindness of strangers in the final episode blew us away."

Her husband agreed saying: "But all people are. People in Brazil are gentle."

Brook said: "We were hosted by some incredible families and we met some amazing people but we were also let down by some people. The first two weeks, I kept thinking: where is all this kindness from strangers? I'm not seeing any of it. Saying they were gunna pick us up and then wouldn't show up and you get a bit of everything but then when people do go out of their way... On the Tube, I always stop help now because I know that feeling."

As well as disasters, there are some huge decisions for the couples to make. Self-confessed "chilled couple" Scott Mills and Sam Vaughan told Yahoo they struggled to make a decision on the final leg because they were feeling the "pressure" of the race.

They must choose what route to take to the final checkpoint in the Andes, Frutillar in Southern Chile but any minor hiccup could set the couple back and cost them their place in the race. The radio DJ said neither of them wanted to "mess it up".

Vaughan said: "You'll see at the start of the final that we might not be able to come to a decision so there's something else that we need to do instead."

He added: "We were tired. We were hungry. We were lost and we got through it. The start of the final, none of us wanted to take that pressure and deciding which route we should take because we didn't want that pressure. One of the legs I said, "I'll take this route" and then another one Scott said, "Oh, I want to do this." But in the last week, we were asking each other: "What do you want to do?" You don’t want that pressure of what route we should take.

Mills agreed: "Right now it's so close on Celebrity Race Across the World You don't want to be that person to make that decision because it's the final leg. You do not want to be that person that makes the wrong decision and messes it up."
