Kickoff set for Texas Tech football Big 12 opener at West Virginia

The Texas Tech football team now knows when its Big 12 opener at West Virginia will begin.

The conference announced Monday that the Sept. 23 showdown in Morgantown is set for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff. The game will stream on Big 12 Now through ESPN+.

Texas Tech has won the last four meetings against the Mountaineers, including last year's 48-10 triumph in Lubbock in 2022.

Both teams are closing the non-conference portion of their schedule this weekend. Texas Tech will host Tarleton State while West Virginia is hosting Pittsburgh.
