Something they don't prepare you for before getting a dog is that they'll befriend everyone — literally, everyone. There's not a stranger that your dog won't go up to. Which was a little concerning for one woman and her very friendly pup. Thankfully their cable man didn't seem to mind the attention.

Carly thought she was doing the right thing when she tried to keep her dog out of the cable man's way. But well...things didn't go according to plan.

Carly and her dog were at her grandmother's house when it happened. We guess her pup was having a hard time keeping to himself.

"Thinking about that one time my dog was with me at my grandma's and we were trying to keep him out of the way because the cable guys were there and the guy was like, 'nooooo, it's okay,' and then proceeded to literally hold his paw while he was working," the woman recalled.

Carly snuck a photo of the scene and her dog looked practically triumphant.

"The guy was so nice and the way my dog just looks at me like 'yeahhhh see, he wanted me over here mom,'" she wrote in the caption. We hate it when our dog's can say I told you so.

The video had people in the comments section rolling. "Dog looks like 'Told you he wouldn’t care if I helped,'" joked one person. "You should send this to their company. It’s so sweet!!!" someone else suggested. "That’s how you know that man is a good person," chimed in another commenter. "I do inspections for peoples homes, and it’s so funny when people apologize about their dogs. Ma’am, I’m literally only coming here for the dogs. Let’s play," added another commenter.

Keeping Your Dog Out of a Service Worker’s Way

This scenario has happened to pretty much all pet owners. Especially if your pet loves people and is the curious type. But if your cable guy isn't as cool as this one, there are a few things you can do to keep your dog distracted.

Toys or long-lasting bones to chew can keep a dog engaged for long enough that a service employee can finish their job. Or you might want to take your dog for a long walk before your appointment, so they won't have a ton of energy and will want to rest. Commands can also be helpful here if your dog tends to jump on people. Training can also solve that problem too.

If we had to guess, most service employees would be okay with your dog coming up to them. To some, it might even make their day. But always ask — just in case.
