Make it three now-former Texas Tech baseball players that will be moving to the Southeastern Conference.

Dillon Carter announced through Twitter on Wednesday that he will be transferring to Georgia to continue his college career. Carter appeared in 36 games last season with 31 starts, hitting .267 on the season with six home runs and 23 RBI on the season.

Also on Wednesday, Tech's No. 1 starting pitcher Mason Molina tweeted an Arkansas graphic, which D1Baseball reported meant he would be joining the Razorbacks.

These make it three Red Raiders who have decided to transfer to SEC schools. Molina will join catcher Hudson White at Arkansas. White pledged to the Razorbacks in mid-June.

The Big 12 Conference announced the scheduling matrix for the 2023-24 season Thursday.

With the addition of four new schools to the conference in Houston, UCF, BYU and Cincinnati, the conference can no longer have a round-robin schedule. Instead, each team will play five opponents at home and on the road. Four teams will be home-only games and four will be road-only matchups.

According to the news release, opponents were selected based on a combination of factors, including geography, historical results and a poll of the coaches to help balance the schedule for travel and competitive purposes.

Texas Tech's five home-and-away opponents will be Cincinnati, Houston, Oklahoma State, Texas and TCU. The Lady Raiders will have the chance to see the Longhorns twice before the two rivals wind up in separate conferences next year.

Home-only opponents for the Lady Raiders include UCF, Iowa State, Kansas State and Kansas, which won the Women's National Invitational Tournament championship.

Tech will see Baylor, BYU, Oklahoma and West Virginia on the road.

The full conference schedule will be released at a later date.

Texas Tech cross country

The Texas Tech cross country team will host two events during the 2023 season.

The schedule, announced Thursday, sees the Red Raiders open the season Sept. 2 in the Wyoming Open in Cheyenne. Tech will then host the Texas Tech Open on Sept. 15.

Lubbock will also be the host site for the NCAA Mountain Regional meet on Nov. 10. It will be the first time in school history Tech has hosted a regional meet, which is the last chance to qualify for the Nov. 18 NCAA Championships at Charlottesville, Va.
