NOMINATION – “Roman Hess is a sixth grade student at Lake Elementary School who displays excellent character. He is a new student and we are just thrilled to have him as a part of our Blue Streak Family.  Roman is a very kind and friendly young man who has made many new friends in his first few weeks of school. Roman is an excellent student who goes above and beyond in his school work. Roman is very attentive during class, participates, and enjoys learning. Roman has already been a great example for his peers. We anticipate he will be a strong leader in his class and continue to succeed.”

PLEASE TELL US WHY YOU PERFORMED THE ACT OF KINDNESS – This is my first year at this school; I am just trying to be kind, helpful, be a good student and make new friends.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE VIDEO GAME, BOOK OR TV SHOW? – My favorite video game is Fortnite, my favorite book is “Prisoner B-3087,” by Alan Gratz, and my favorite movies are the “Rocky” series.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP? – I want to be baseball player in MLB, and then I want to be a general manager for the Houston Astros.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT SCHOOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE? – I wouldn’t change anything about school. I love the school how it is, and how fun it has been in the first few weeks.

IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND HOW WOULD YOU USE IT TO CHANGE THE WORLD? – To have the superpower to stop all the fighting in the world so everyone is in peace.

Kasey Trumbull, Bulldog Virtual Academy, fifth grade, Youtz – Kasey is a model student in the virtual classroom. She attends all of her Google Meets, completes all of her Schoology assignments, engages herself in all aspects of learning, and attends many extracurricular Level Up activities, both virtual and face-to-face.

Chael Belt, fifth grade, Patrick – Chael follows the BARK expectations every day. He is always looking for ways to grow in technology and his other academic areas.

Victoria Spencer, sixth grader at Canton South Middle School – Tori exemplifies the essence of a true Wildcat of Character by attending class well-prepared, displaying an enthusiastic approach to learning, and readily extending a helping hand to her classmates when needed.

Bryer White, sixth grader at Canton South Middle School – Bryer distinguishes himself as a Kid of Character through his unwavering dedication to volunteering in every class, whether reading aloud or answering questions. He consistently exhibits politeness towards peers and staff and is frequently seen at football games, showcasing his support of all Wildcats!

Lillyan Smithberger, sixth grader at Fairless Middle School – Lillyan is a very hard-working and conscientious student. She is also very attentive socially and academically within the school environment.

Gabe Renner, seventh grader at Fairless Middle School – Gabe participates in class by asking thoughtful questions. He uses his time wisely to complete assignments. He is always prepared academically.

Lake Center Christian School

Khloe Miltiades, fifth grade at Lake Center Christian – Khloe is a compassionate and intelligent young lady, she cares deeply about the people around her, and is often seen doing the right thing.

Paul Dussell, eighth grade at Lake Center Christian – Paul is an intelligent deep-thinking student! He is kind to all of his classmates and strives to complete every assignment or task with excellence.

Mariia Zusko, sixth grade at Lake Elementary School – Mariia Zusko displays excellent character. Mariia is an outgoing and friendly classmate who is always willing to help her peers. Mariia takes great pride in her work and always does her best. Mariia is prepared for class and ready to learn. She works hard in and out of class and shows that school is very important to her. Mariia has great focus during class, asks questions, and participates daily. Mariia continues to be an excellent example for her peers.

Zoey Brechbiel, seventh grade at Marlington Middle School – Zoey is an extremely hard worker and is kind to those around her. She is growing into even more and more of a positive leader for others.

Hunter Oyster, seventh grade at Marlington Middle School – Hunter is a conscientious student. He takes his schoolwork seriously and is a great benefit to those around him.

Massillon

Rilley Bailey, sixth grade at Massillon Intermediate School – Rilley Bailey is a very quiet young lady who is respectful, cooperative and caring to others. She is always attentive in class and helpful to others. She exemplifies the 4 B’s daily. Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. We are proud that Rilley is heading the way for our future leaders.

Daniel Blanda, sixth grade at Massillon Intermediate School – Daniel Blanda can be found daily following class routines, assisting other classmates and teachers, and always sets a positive example for others to follow. He sees the value in education as he comes to class prepared and ready to learn daily. Daniel is also respectful and an extremely hard worker! He possesses all the necessary qualities to be recognized as a kid of character.

Minerva Local

Addyson Kocher, eighth grade at Minerva Middle School – Polite, conscientious, hard-working, friend to all are just a few ways we can describe Addyson Kocher. Academically, Addyson always gives 110%. She is not just concerned about getting her work done on time, but she also makes sure she firmly understands what she is learning. Minerva Middle School is proud to have her as a student!

Isaak Morckel, eighth grade at Minerva Middle School – Contagious smile on his face that lights up the hallways of MMS, trustworthy, and responsible are just a few ways we can describe Isaak. Academically, he often completes assignments ahead of the deadline, and they are high-quality work that we often use as an example for the other students. Isaak has a great sense of humor that brings fun to the learning in the classroom. Isaak is the epitome of what we want our MMS students to be.

Northwest Local

Peyton Hodovan, eighth grade at Northwest Middle School – Peyton is an excellent student who is a member of the cheerleading team, the middle school choir and ran track last school year. She enjoys painting and working on other forms of art, and also is into working out in her spare time. She is the oldest of two and would love to one day attend Kent or Akron to study to be a primary schoolteacher.

Logan Begert, eighth grade at Northwest Middle School – Logan is an active athlete and high-achieving student. He is involved in cross country, track, and baseball, and also played basketball last year. At home, he enjoys reading fiction and taking part in family game nights. Logan is the middle of three children and would love to one day work in a science field, or as an architect. His dream college is the University of Oregon.

Osnaburg Local

Alexis Jovingo, eighth grade at East Canton Middle School – Alexis is involved in cheerleading and volleyball. She works hard both in the classroom and in extracurricular activities. Alexis is a leader and a good example to her peers. She is kind and always willing to lend a hand. She is definitely an asset to our Middle School, and we feel lucky to have her.

Foster Varian, seventh grade at East Canton Middle School – While at school, Foster can be seen displaying compassion, respect, kindness, and integrity when interacting with adults and peers. He is involved in a peer mentoring group, Sources of Strength, where his leadership skills aid him in empowering other students to impact our world with connection, hope, and help. Foster is involved in many sports including football, basketball, and track, where it is easy to notice his good sportsmanship and encouraging attitude. Foster is very genuine and not afraid to be himself. In his spare time, he enjoys building model cars and spending time with his family and friends.

Plain Local

Maci Thompson, seventh grade at Oakwood Middle School – Maci Thompson is an amazing student athlete, musician, and challenges herself in the classroom. She is always pleasant, helpful, and kind to both teachers and peers!

Finley Pace, fifth grade at Glenwood Intermediate – Finley has started fifth grade at Glenwood with a positive attitude. He shows kindness to all students and is a leader in all his classes. We are so glad to have him in our community and can’t wait to watch him soar.

Sebring Local

Brittney Nagy, eighth grade at McKinley Jr./Sr. High School – Brittney brings a bright and cheery attitude every day, while she also excels in the classroom.

Jason Sanor, eighth grade at McKinley Jr./Sr. High School – Jason has made a concerted effort in the classroom this year and just set a new middle school record in cross country.

Hasbleydi Avila Amaya, fifth grade at St. Peter School – Hasbleydi spoke very little English when she started at St Peter's and has progressed very quickly, even helping other students with her caring ways. She is very hard-working, friendly and leads by example.

Tuslaw

Alicen Sokol, eighth grade at Tuslaw Middle School, – Alicen is a polite, respectful student who strives to do her best in the classroom. She has helped others and grown her leadership skills by being involved with the Learning to Lead program, which prepares students to be leaders and helps improve the school.

Ezra Lammlein, eighth grade at Tuslaw Middle School – Ezra is a polite, respectful student who is eager to get involved and help others. In the initial weeks of school, it has become clear that Ezra is a diligent, driven student who cares deeply about his education.
