NASCAR Speed Freaks: Is Martin Truex going to do the ultimate Cup Series walk-off?

Updated

Any chance Martin Truex provides a walk-off championship this year?

KEN'S CALL: He really seems to be struggling with the retirement possibility, but at least he's in control of that decision. As for winning it all, he's like the other contenders — a lot of things have to fall into place.

RYAN'S RAMBLE: Truex seems to be having a lot of fun out there and I'd have to think anyone thinking this hard about retiring probably isn't retiring.

There are rumors of Michael McDowell taking over for Aric Almirola in the No. 10 near year. You buying it?

KEN'S CALL: First, Almirola has to officially retire for good, and frankly it seems as if he's halfway out the door already. I suspect Stewart-Haas would look to replace Almirola with one of the current (and quality) young hot-rodders out there, but they haven't asked for my thoughts.

RYAN'S RAMBLE: I think the prospects of McDowell in a premier ride are intriguing, the problem is, are we sure the No. 10 is better than the No. 34? It's not like Almirola's struggles have been isolated within the Stewart-Haas Racing camp. Maybe McDowell is better off right where he is.
