Two men are heroes after they saved the life of a baby moose. Spencer Warren of Alaska had no clue that his day was going to get completely turned upside down when he spotted the baby trapped near a dock. It would shake any animal lover. Thankfully, Warren used some quick thinking and got the moose calf free.

Just seeing the clip of the moose stuck in the water is enough to break your heart.

It seems that the moose fell and got trapped between the dock and a seaplane. In the clip Warren shared, it looked petrified. But a baby moose is not like a kitten or puppy dog. They're much bigger and it would be trickier to get the animal free.

"I didn't think I'd have to deal with this today," he said in the footage. There was another obstacle to this whole mess too — "Mama moose won't leave me alone to save the baby!" he exclaimed.

Warren, along with a police officer he asked for help, ultimately got their shot to save the creature when mom wandered to the other side of the parking lot. But it was a lucky break at an otherwise scary time.

Thankfully things turned out alright in the end. People in the comments section were so relieved. "The look on the baby moose's face like 'well this is a predicament,'" joked one person. "Mom is like 'and we had to have HUMANS intervene!!! Wait till we get home!!'" someone else teased. "The mom looking over like 'I apologize officers ....he is DEFINITELY grounded,'" added another commenter. "Alaska’s version of saving a cat in a tree," wrote one woman.

Are Moose Threats to People?

Warren might be accustomed to a moose sighting, but for many of us it could be a scary thought. Moose are large, wild animals. Is it possible that they are a danger to humans?

Moose are typically not aggressive creatures. That being said, in certain circumstances when they are stressed they can act out. For instance, a female moose will attack in order to protect her young (hence why Warren was nervous to make a move until Mama was out of the way).

You can tell when a moose is agitated if they start snorting, licking their lips, if its ears goes against its head, or if its neck and back hair are standing up. If the moose starts charging you, try and run away and hide as fast as you can. If the animal knocks you down, don't fight it. Curl up in a ball and try to protect your head.

You can protect yourself by being aware of areas where moose frequent. If you do see the animals, try and stay away from their babies. And if you have a dog with you, try and remove your animal as that can also be seen as a threat.

If possible, stay calm. Dealing with a moose is scary, but making sure things don't go wrong takes a level head.
