Do you feel that slight chill in the air? That can only mean one thing — Halloween is near. This is our absolute favorite holiday. And it seems like the good people over at Willow Rock Cattle in Blacksburg, Virginia are operating on our same wavelength. They recently showed some of their mini cows all decked out for the holiday. We know it's early! But it seems like no one can wait.

Is there anything cuter than a mini cow? Nope, and it's not even close. But the minis do look particularly adorable in their Halloween costumes.

"It’s almost time to play spooky dress-up with the babies again!" Willow Rock Cattle exclaimed in the caption on the video they shared. Ooooh, we're getting so excited!

The footage shows several of their mini cows in various costumes — a pumpkin, a Halloween-y clown, a ghost, and a bumblebee!

Without a doubt, people in the comments section loved the little ghost's costume best. "Little guy dressed as a ghost is like, 'Can't see, can't move, please help,'" wrote one person. "Ghost one is doing a power pose," someone else teased. "The sheet over the last one got me," another commenter admitted. "Moooo, I mean booooo. He’s just doing his best," one person joked.

All About Miniature Cows

Just like teacup pigs and dogs, mini cows get a lot of attention because of their tiny size. Miniature Cows have been gaining popularity in recent years, but did you know that originally they were bred to be the "poor man's cow?"

Yep, mini cows can both produce milk and meat, and can even pull carts too (albeit small ones). Specifically Dexter cattle were raised to be mini cows, but the petite cattle went out of style for a while when larger cows became more popular. They've since had a renaissance, although their popularity has more to do with their looks than producing food.

In general, mini cows tend to be one-third to half the size of a regular cow. The biggest mini cows tend to be 48 inches high at the hip. Smaller minis can be about 36 inches at the hip — and that's at their adult height. Mini cow calves are even smaller. Most are about the size of mid-size dogs.

There are about 26 mini cow breeds out there, including Dexters, Zebus, Lowlines, Miniature Herefords, Miniature Jerseys, Miniature Highlands, and Miniature Belted Galloways. Of course, different people are going to have different preferences. But it's all to say that if you want a mini cow, there's bad no option.
