Mom's Dedication to Rescuing Kitten Pays Off When Her Cat 'Adopts' Baby As His Own

When cat owner Lauren came across a kitten in the gutter on the side of the road, she couldn't sit by and let nature take its course. She knew the kitten was hungry and scared, and she quickly became determined to save the crying baby. With the help of her partner and her willingness to get her hands dirty, she was able to rescue the kitten from the gutter before anything bad happened.

Lauren's TikTok viewers could quickly tell that she cared deeply for the kitten, as did her orange cat, Oscar. Between the two of them, the rescue kitten is positively spoiled, and now his adoption is nearly official, too! Since being found by his rescuers, the kitten has fit in perfectly in his brand new family, and Lauren's June 24 TikTok video is the cutest proof!

OMG! This little kitten couldn't be cuter, especially when he's cuddled up with his new 'dad,' Oscar, the orange tabby cat. Their immediate bond is inspiring to see, and I don't think anyone could keep a straight face when Oscar's paws were poking out from under the door!

"Your cat is keeping the kitten. Y’all are along for the ride. Congrats!" wrote commenter @kpickle83. I think you're right! It seems like Lauren wanted to keep the rescue kitten from the very start, but Oscar's immediate love for the little one basically sealed the deal. He made it very clear: that kitten is his baby now!

Natural, viewers asked left and right if Lauren and Oscar planned to adopt their new feline friend. It would be a dream come true if the cats could stay together! Fortunately, no one had to wait long to get the answer they were looking for.

It's official--this kitten is home! Maverick is already as loved as can be, and he even has an older cat to show him the ropes. The curious orange cat took up the role of caretaker as naturally as can be, and now this little family is complete.

Finding an Abandoned Kitten

Lauren did the right thing by rescuing the stuck kitten, especially since he was in a spot where no one could reach him. It's most likely that he became separated from Mom and then stuck in the gutter, but now he has a big brother or dad to look out for him. If you ask me, Oscar isn't letting him go anywhere ever again. What a good cat!
