$1 billion Powerball jackpot won in California, 4 Texas players win $1 million Match 5 prize

A winner has been declared in Powerball's Wednesday drawing, claiming the $1 billion jackpot during the lottery game's. That mark puts it at third largest Powerball jackpot all-time and in the top-ten of U.S. lottery games.

Powerball's jackpot was last won on Aug. 3 when a lottery player in Ohio won $252.6 million.

Here's what you need to know about where the lottery games currently stand:

Wednesday's winning Powerball numbers

The winning numbers for Wednesday night's drawing were 7, 10, 11, 13, 24, and the Powerball is 24. The Power Play was 2X.

Powerball winner from California, Match 5 winners reported in multiple states

A player in California matched all six numbers to win the Powerball. They bought the ticket in Los Angeles, at Las Palmitas Mini Market, which is located at 1205 Wall Street. It's just 16 miles away from where the record-breaking $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot was bought last November.

According to the lottery game, mulltple players matched five balls for a million dollar prize and another won with a megaplier who won $4 million prize, too. Those winning the Match 5 for a $1 million prize included seven players in California, five in New York, four in in Florida, four in Texas, three in Massachusetts, two in Maryland and one person in each of the following states: Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, New Hampshire, Ohio, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

Three players won the Match 5 + Power Play $2 million prize. They included players in Florida, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

What were the largest jackpots in lottery history?

The last highest jackpot for a national lottery drawing was recently, with a record $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot being won in California on Nov. 7, 2022.

The biggest Mega Millions jackpot was won on Oct. 23, 2018 in South Carolina. It was worth $1.537 billion.

How many numbers in Powerball do you need to win a prize? When are drawings?

You only need to match one number in Powerball to win a prize. However, that number must be the Powerball worth $4.

Drawings are held three times per week at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Lotto Texas and Mega Millions numbers

The latest Lotto Texas numbers for Wednesday were 12-15-23-24-38-41. It was worth $8 million, but there was no winner, pushing the jackpot to $9.25 million Saturday.

The latest Mega Millions numbers for Tuesday were 9-22-31-37-54 and the Megaball was 18, with a Megaplier of 4X.2.

No one matched all six numbers to win Mega Millions.

According to the lottery game, seven players matched five balls for a million dollar prize and another won with a megaplier who won $4 million prize, too. As of this writing, those winning the Match 5 included two players in California, one in Florida, Maryland, New York, Ohio and Rhode Island. The megaplier $4 million prize winner was in Maryland.

The next drawing is planned for Friday with a jackpot of $720 million.
