Police are investigating after a black cab driver reported his vehicle’s window was shot out in Soho, central London.

Metropolitan Police officers responded to the firearms discharge on Dean Street at 10am on Tuesday, in one of the capital’s busiest tourist districts.

A spokesman said: “The driver of a London black taxi reported he was stationary in traffic when a shot was fired towards his vehicle, striking the window.”

Nobody was injured but road closures remained in place along Dean Street, which is just off Oxford Street.

Scotland Yard added: “Police were called at 10.10am on Tuesday, October 1 to a report of a firearms discharge on Dean Street, Westminster.

“An investigation has been launched.”
