Coronation Street airs Joel's evil revenge against Dee-Dee

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street has revealed Joel Deering's evil revenge against ex-fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey.

Joel was recently reported to the police over his violent attack against Lauren Bolton, with Dee-Dee finally learning the truth. Dee-Dee has since joined forces with DS Swain to search for new evidence of Joel's wrongdoing.

Last week, Lauren was horrified to come face-to-face with Joel while visiting their son Frankie in hospital. Frankie is still under observation after arriving prematurely a few weeks ago.

Joel warned Lauren that he was going to destroy her life just as she'd tried to do to him, with Lauren lashing out and bloodying Joel's lip.

Tonight's (September 2) episode saw Joel threaten Lauren at the hospital, revealing that he's spoken to a solicitor and intends to apply for custody of Frankie.

"You're only doing this to punish Lauren, you've got no interest in Frankie," said Dee-Dee, with Joel replying: "You're wrong, I love my son and I want to make sure he's safe."

Despite Lauren urging her to stop interfering, Dee-Dee reported Joel's threat to Swain, determined to find more of his former victims. Swain then revealed that Joel used to work for Walcott's, a firm that specialises in helping vulnerable young people, but he left abruptly.

Dee-Dee then attended a meeting with the firm's boss, Mal Walcott, who insisted that Joel was a "good man" and an "excellent lawyer". After their conversation, Mal called Joel to inform him of Dee-Dee's "awkward questions".

Later, Joel arrived at the solicitors to let Dee-Dee know that he'd been made aware of her recent actions.

"You need to stop poking your nose in other people's business," he said, with Dee-Dee replying: "You've got secrets Joel, I know you do, and I'm going to find them."

Joel warned Dee-Dee that if she doesn't back off, he'll report her dad for insider trading, saying: "Insider trading is a serious offence and I only sat on all of that because of our love for each other, but now that's gone."

Dee-Dee then received a call from the Walcotts' receptionist, who gave her Joel's old work phone to "shed some light" on his mysterious departure from the firm.

He then urged Dee-Dee not to tell anyone as he "wouldn't want to be on the wrong side" of Joel. Dee-Dee later passed the mobile on to Swain to investigate.

On the street, Kit approached Dee-Dee and Ed, and revealed that someone had made an allegation of insider trading against Ed. "It's Joel," confirmed Dee-Dee.

"What the hell's he playing at?" asked Ed, to which his daughter replied: "Operation takedown Dee-Dee."

After a tense conversation with Kit, Adam asked Dee-Dee to "step down" from her job until Joel's accusations were smoothed over. Swain then called at Dee-Dee's to confirm that her friend in IT forensics was looking at Joel's phone for further evidence. "We're going to nail that man," she said.

Can they finally find some dirt on Joel?
