EastEnders shares first look at new family joining Walford

EastEnders have shared a sneak peak at Walford's newest family, the Knights, ahead of their arrival in the square.

In preparation for the 2023 British Soap Awards, the show shared a compilation of everything that's happened and is still yet to come in Albert Square on Twitter. However fans were quick to spot the first glimpse to Colin Salmon's George in the final few seconds.

George can be seen walking through the market and up to the Queen Vic, before turning around as daughter Anna – played by Molly Rainford – calls out to him.

"Dad. Wait up," she says.

The Knights are set to be introduced this summer as the new co-owners of the Vic, running the pub alongside Linda Carter. Alongside George and Anna, the family also includes Linda's mother Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and George's other daughter Gina (Francesca Henry).

Speaking about the family's introduction, EastEnders producer Chris Clenshaw revealed that the introduction of the Knight family will shake-up the soap.

"The arrival of the Knights brings a new dawn to Albert Square," he said.

"George Knight is a charming rogue and an old-school gent who dotes on his two daughters, Gina and Anna. George will take up residence in The Queen Vic when he joins his beloved Elaine, a powerhouse of a land-lady who knows just how to have fun."

He added: "We're thrilled to welcome this hugely talented group of actors: Colin Salmon, Harriet Thorpe, Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford, who will be immediately thrown into the heart of the Square, and we can't wait for everyone to meet them."

Meanwhile Strictly Come Dancing star Molly received support from her boyfriend Tyler West, with the presenter calling himself a proud boyfriend.

Discussing the news in an appearance on ITV's Lorraine, he said: "I tell you what, it's the hardest secret I've ever had to keep in my life. It was, genuinely!

"I'm a very proud boyfriend today, Lorraine, very proud boyfriend."
