EastEnders star Micah Balfour expecting first child with partner

EastEnders star Micah Balfour is expecting his first child with his partner Nat, with the star announcing the news via social media.

The star joined the BBC soap earlier this year, making his debut as Junior Knight – the son of George – back in May, with the character being involved with Cindy Beale.

Away from the soap, Balfour has some very exciting news, with the star sharing via Instagram that he was expecting his first child.

“So we have some exciting news……” he wrote in the caption, with the post including a photo of a sign which read: “Baby Balfour, February 2025”. There was also a photo of a teddy bear, some flowers and an ultra scan photo.

The news was welcomed by Balfour’s followers, with former EastEnders star Louisa Lytton commenting: “😍😍😍😍 Congratulations ❤️” whilst the official channels for the soap added: “🙏🙏🙏”

“Ahh what lovely news! Congratulations to you both ❤️” added another follower, with a fourth commenting: “From the personal experience of you looking out for me on Stage, I know you’re going to be an epic Dad. Congratulations”

Eden Taylor-Draper, who co-starred with Balfour on Emmerdale, also sent a message as she wrote: “Congratulations!!!!🥰” whilst former Coronation Street star Rhea Bailey commented: “Ahh! Congratulations Honey!! ❤️🥳 So exciting!!”

Whilst Balfour’s Junior entered Walford earlier this year, the Knight family will soon be getting some new additions as Dayo Koleosho and Jonathan Nyati will join the soap as the brothers of George.

“It's been absolutely amazing – I'm loving every minute of working with the cast and crew. It's an incredible storyline for Kojo and his family,” said Koleosho. “It is a dream that has become reality. There are many surprises and I'm taking every opportunity to work creatively with other talented actors.”

“I am really honoured to appear in EastEnders, a British soap that I grew up watching religiously,” added Nyati. “It's exciting to be part of George Knight's storyline and his on-screen family. I can't wait for viewers to be introduced to Kobina and his little brother Kojo as they arrive in Albert Square for the first time.”

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
