Emmerdale's Jurell Carter has received high praise from his co-stars following his exit from the soap.

The actor bowed out from his role as Nate Robinson after five years this week, with the character leaving the village to take on a new job in Shetland following some explosive rows with his dad Cain and estranged wife Tracy.

Sharing a heartfelt tribute to Nate and Emmerdale on Instagram following his final scenes airing, Carter said: "It's been a massive chapter of my life and will always hold a special place in my heart. Emmerdale is a big family, from the minute I walked in the building on my first day I was made to feel welcome and wanted and I’ve been truly blessed to be a part of it."

After, Carter's comments section was soon flooded with messages of well wishes and praise from his co-stars.
