Emmerdale confirms Jai Sharma's family secret

Emmerdale has revealed Jai Sharma's life-changing secret in a dramatic episode.
The revelation occurred in the after-glow of Laurel proposing to Jai, as he realised he'd need to find his divorce certificate in order to get hitched once again.
Jai went around to Rishi's place to look for the document, but in the process of searching, he dislodged an old box that was seemingly being kept hidden.
In among childhood pictures and other keepsakes from his childhood was a form that revealed he'd actually been adopted by his father Rishi.

He returned home in a daze where Laurel joked that "Rishi couldn't keep a secret if you paid him", as he'd dropped hints about the engagement to the children.
"You'd be surprised," an exasperated Jai told Laurel.
He presented Laurel with the form he'd found, telling his soon-to-be wife: "It's an adoption certificate. Mine, as it happens."
As Laurel processed the revelation, Jai broke down and declared: "My whole life has been a lie because I'm adopted."
Ahead of Monday's episode airing, actor Chris Bisson has hinted at huge ramifications for his character Jai and Rishi over the secret.
"Jai's always losing his temper! Jai's angry, Jai's shouting... honestly, it's exhausting! Yeah, he's a bit of a hothead. And so Jai losing his temper is nothing new," Chris told Digital Spy and other media.
"Rishi's upset that it's come out the way it's come out. Although Rishi has had 47 years to tell him, which is what's annoying Jai. I think Jai wants to tackle him. He can't control himself. And that is because rather than telling them the truth, Rishi is tricky."
