Emmerdale makes closing credits change after Nate and Tracy wedding day

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has made a major change in the closing credits for Tracy Metcalfe.

Last night's episode (July 3) saw Tracy say "I do" to Nate in an unofficial church ceremony conducted by local vicar Charles Anderson. However, their nuptials aren't legal yet, with the husband and wife duo saying they'd sort the paperwork side of things out imminently.

Nevertheless, when it came to the closing credits, it was confirmed that Tracy would be taking her new husband's name, with her character listed as "Tracy Robinson".

The wedding didn't exactly go off without a hitch, with Cain Dingle and Moira Barton meddling with proceedings.

In the wake of Tracy's return, Cain hears via Nicola that Nate is heading straight to Hotten Town Hall. Fearing his son was about to do something stupid - like fight for custody of daughter Frankie - Cain and Moira rush off to the Town Hall to check in with Nate.

When he arrives though, the pair see Tracy in her wedding gown and assumes she's there to wed another man. Cain thinks Nate is there to wreck Tracy's upcoming nuptials and in a dramatic intervention kidnaps his son.

Thankfully, some time later, Cain gets filled in on the true identity of Tracy's groom - Nate - and a last minute unofficial ceremony by Charles goes ahead at the village church.

Whilst the original nuptials didn't quite go to plan, viewers saw Tracy and Nate happily settle for a last minute venue change where they confirmed their love and commitment to one another.

Emmerdale's Amy Walsh, who plays Tracy, teased that like their wedding day, Tracy and Nate's future relationship as husband and wife will prove rocky but solid.

"It's like domestic bliss, hit with all the bumps that come with that," she says. "So they've got some work issues coming up, but what's really nice to see, in the next coming episodes after the wedding, is hitting those bumps and sailing over them."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
