The first trailer for Penelope, a new coming-of-age drama starring Euphoria's Austin Abrams and Little Fires Everywhere actor Megan Stott, has been unveiled.

The eight-part series, which is heading to Netflix US on September 24, sees Stott play the title character, a 16-year-old girl who leaves her life and family behind to trek into the wilds of Washington State.

The offical logline continues: "As she establishes an alternative life for herself, survivalism and coming-of-age coalesce in this poignant journey toward self-discovery."

The trailer opens with Penelope leaving a voicemail for her mother, saying: "I'm sorry for leaving like that. It's not you, I'm not running away. I feel like I'm running towards something. It's like I'm being called. Please don't go looking for me."

With that, Penelope makes a life for herself in the wilderness and meets some people along the way, including Sam (Abrams), Helena (Krisha Fairchild) and Peter (Rhenzy Feliz).

Penelope is created by Mark Duplass and Mel Eslyn, while Jay Duplass and Shuli Harel serve as executive producers.

The film, which is scheduled to arrive on Apple TV+ on September 27, sees Clooney and Pitt play two criminal fixers who discover they've been hired for the same job, and must work together if they want to collect their bounty.

Wolfs is directed and written by Spider-Man franchise director Jon Watts, while Clooney and Pitt are also onboard as producers.

Other cast members include Only Murders in the Building's Amy Ryan and Never Have I Ever's Poorna Jagannathan, though further details on who they'll be playing are yet to be announced.
