Hollyoaks confirms Tony and Diane's future in Maxine twist

Hollyoaks has confirmed Tony and Diane Hutchinson's future following a twist involving Maxine Minniver.
Monday's streaming episode confirmed that the Hutchinsons are pursuing a divorce, after going through a long stretch of marriage trouble that pre-dated the recent one-year time jump.
In these new scenes, the soap initially hinted that Tony may be having an affair with Maxine but this turned out to be a red herring.
Tony and Maxine's supposed secret tryst was actually a meeting with Diane where the couple could hash out their divorce with their legal aide.

Presenting the pair with their divorce papers, Maxine asked: "If you both can just sign here, we can begin the divorce proceedings immediately."
Following this emotional mediation session, Diane opened up to Marie Fielding about the heartbreak she was feeling over her split from Tony.
"Now that it's done, I'm not sure that I'm happy," she confessed.
The estranged couple tried to keep their separation plans secret from their children, only for Ro Hutchinson to discover a draft of their divorce papers.

Over at the hospital, Tony opened up about his conflicted feelings about the divorce with Ste Hay, who has been facing his own life-changing development in agreeing to raise daughter Leah's newborn son James.
"We're a great team, we always have been," Tony admitted. "One day, I woke up and realised the light had went out, I guess."
The soap has hinted at a new romantic interest for Tony to be revealed in Tuesday's (October 1) streaming episode when he meets up with a mystery admirer to share a kiss.
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
